"Let's end this," Sungmin's voice interrupted the quiet of the still night.
"End what?" Kyuhyun replied, looking up from the book that he was reading.
"This KyuMin thingy. I'm getting fed up with all of it," Sungmin whispered, voice meek as he burrowed into the sheets of their shared bed, his back facing the younger.
"Wait. What?" Kyuhyun jolted up and dropped his book. He edged in closer and placed a hand on the elder's shoulder.
"You know what," Sungmin replied, unfazed by Kyuhyun's hand which was now tugging at the blanket that he had draped over his form.
"Minnie? Minnie... Minnie!" Kyuhyun persisted as he repeatedly poked the elder, worry etched on his features.
"What!?" Sungmin's voice rose, irritated at the younger.
"A-Are you... Are you breaking up with me?" Kyuhyun's lips wibbled, hot tears flowing from his chocolate orbs as he scooted away from the elder and curled up into a ball.
"Hey. Don't cry. Of course not, Kyubear. Come're," Sungmin reached out to his lover, wincing as Kyuhyun flinched at the contact.
Sungmin tried once again and breathed a sigh of relief as he successfully cupped Kyuhyun's cheeks, the younger leaning into the touch. He hugged Kyuhyun to his chest and rubbed small circles on his back, humming a familiar tune into the brunet's locks in an attempt to comfort the other.
"You're not really breaking up with me, are you?" Kyuhyun said cautiously minutes after, looking up to see Sungmin smiling at him.
"Of course not, silly Kyubear. I simply said that we should end KyuMin, not our relationship," Sungmin patiently explained, just like how one would do to a child.
"But we are KyuMin! That doesn't make sense, at all," Kyuhyun huffed indignantly, withdrawing himself from Sungmin's embrace and crossing his arms on his chest. Kyuhyun was a genius but this was something he didn't understand.
"I only meant the fan service, Kyu. No need to make a big deal out of it," Sungmin continued, that serene smile still on his face.
Kyuhyun wondered what brought this about. Sungmin only looked that calm when he was feeling anything but. If there was one thing Kyuhyun was proud of, it was that he could read Sungmin like the back of his hand no matter how enigmatic the other man may be. In fact, he might've been the only one to see beyond the facade that his hyung showed everyone, the only one who broke through the walls he built around him, the only one who managed to penetrate the barrier of Sungmin's once stone-cold-heart. Kyuhyun was going to get to the bottom of this, no matter what.
"Did you read the fans' mentions again?" Kyuhyun asked suspiciously, eyebrows furrowed as he noticed how Sungmin's cheeks visibly reddened as he was caught red-handed.
"O-Of course not! What are mentions? Do we eat it?" Sungmin stammered, the bead of sweat that formed on his forehead a dead giveaway.
"Sungmin hyung..." Kyuhyun said warningly.
"Oh! Mentions. Like those in Twitter? How stupid of me to forget. I'm sorry! I guess it slipped my mind. My Twitter's relatively new so I haven't gotten the hang of it yet again. What about them mentions anyway?" Sungmin amended, growing smaller and smaller under Kyuhyun's penetrating gaze.
"Oh please, Minnie. We both know there's nothing you can't do. Who are you kidding? Just spit it out," Kyuhyun continued, coaxing the elder to tell the truth.
"I-I cannot play Starcraft that well. There! That's something I can't do," Sungmin muttered, eyes growing wide as he reasoned for himself. Kyuhyun thought he looked cute but stopped himself from gushing over his pink-lover of a hyung.
"It's not that you can't play Starcraft. It's just that you won't play Starcraft. Now tell me what's bothering you," Kyuhyun demanded, giving Sungmin no room for argument.
"Okay fine. I-I read them. The mentions, I mean," Sungmin sighed resignedly, his cheeks puffing out as he did so.
"Now that was easy, wasn't it? And what did I tell you about getting affected by antis, huh? I thought you learned your lesson the last time you deleted your account," Kyuhyun smiled, gathering his lover in one arm as he leaned both oftheir bodies on the headboard.
"I know. I just... I can't help but get curious sometimes. And there are good stuff in there too. Would you believe that some fans want us to get married!? But... some hate... KyuMin. I guess we should stop KyuMin for their sake?" Sungmin said meekly, nuzzling his head at the crook of Kyuhyun's neck while the latter had an arm wrapped securely around his waist.
"That's bullshit, Minnie," Kyuhyun spat, quickly kissing Sungmin's forehead as the elder stiffened upon his use of such expletive. "I mean, you yourself did say that there are fans who support us. Don't you think it'd be better if you focus on making those fans happy rather than dwelling on all the hate of those anti-fans? You know what they say, you can't please everybody. So why not follow your heart and go for the thing that makes you happy?" Kyuhyun continued, his words a product of wisdom that was beyond his years.
"I know... But..." Sungmin was cut when Kyuhyun abruptly brought their lips together in a chaste kiss.
"No buts, Minnie. Besides, captains are not allowed to abandon their own ship. It's illegal. And since we are the captain of this ship, I hereby forbid you to mention any of this nonsense ever again. Those haters can suck it up because I, Cho Kyuhyun, will love no one else but you, Lee Sungmin," Kyuhyun whispered into Sungmin's lips as they parted, brushing a strand of hair that fell on his hyung's face and tucking it behind his ear.
"It should be 'captains', Kyubear. It's supposed to be plural. I thought you were a genius!" Sungmin giggled at his boyfriend's cheesiness, touched, nonetheless.
"No, I meant captain. Because you and I? KyuMin? We are one."
