Russian ancestry and language

I was looking into the demographics of notorious Fair Lawn, NJ, which has one of the greatest concentration of Russian or Russian speaking population. I found these numbers very curious. 22.7% of its residents five years old and above primarily speak Russian at home, while only 14.5% of Fair Lawn residents identified themselves as being of Russian ( Read more... )

Both. Also keep in mind: not every person that speaks Russian is Russian. In fact, I'd say there are less ethnic Russians here than their former compatriots speaking the same language. Just as not every American that speaks English is English or Irish :)
