This interminable rain is rather misery-making, isn't it?

DAY ELEVEN: Sun 25

First ice-cream of the season! Predictably followed by three days of endless rain.

(Not pictured: the incredible cheese and leak pie soy sauce-fried broccoli with cashews and pine-nuts with Lili made for tea, or the Latvian blackcurrant balsam we had as our nightcap.)

DAY TWELVE: Mon 26

Rainy bank holiday spent at Kew Gardens! Unexpected cricketers on the way (put me and Loz in mind of Bodie).

Over-indulgence in a pub called The Botanist. We are all very good at over-indulgence.

Never been to Kew before! Brilliant!

Linda photographing me photographing Linda (plus Lili and Becca at the back).

Turns out that I really like flowers!

Amazing palm house balcony.

Lili is a tree-hugger.

Trivia: this is one of three heritage sites where you can't plant and block the view to the great house at the end. Unfortunately, they lined it up wrong, so you can't see it anyway!

Roses are one of my favourites.

Goslings!

(Not pictured: having spent the day getting thoroughly soaked, we all went home and put our pyjamas on, ate a massive cheeseboad with wine and port, and cried our eyes out to Toyy Story 3 and Up).

DAY THIRTEEN: Tues 27

Despite accidentally waking up at 4am (bloody cheese and wine and stress), I finally get the first draft of my paper sent off!

DAY FOURTEEN: Wed 28

After a terrible day in the old mindtank, making myself a sofa sanctuary for the evening.

100 days of happy
