My Muse is Dead

Since uni started back for me in late January, the muse and I haven't been getting along well. She gave me a sprinkling of her magic dust to draft two chapters and a one-shot for three different stories and she also helped me finish (after being forced) another one-shot for a prompt by another lj-er. Now, she's left me stranded, which quite ( Read more... )

For the most part, I try to let the muse sneak up on me when I'm blocked (because that is what happens naturally when I'm not). One way of doing this is to just take a break until you get an inspiration (maybe read / watch some of the source material - favorite episodes, scenes); the other is to make a routine of writing something every day, for may be an hour, without getting too attached to what, until something relevant to the fic emerges and starts the flow.

Prompt:

Mark, backstory (childhood, high school or college/med school) - dying inside. (That angsty enough for you? ;) )

It was really my plan to write something everyday but when I come home, all I want to do is go to bed. If I write whenever I get the time, whether it be at uni or something, then that would be better. So I'll try these.

Your prompt was the first thing I saw when I got this comment and I started writing it. You'll probably see this up by tomorrow. Speaking of prompts, when will I get to see that Tim Riggins one? :)

Oh, and yes, it is angsty enough, thank you :)

Oh, oops *blushes*. Uhm . . . when I can recall my reaction to S4 or you've seen S5, which ever comes first ;)

Ahahaha....smh, very clever. Would you like to change the character then? I'm seeing Damon Salvatore coming to mind, he's had his moments lately (please tell me you're up to date).

Oh, I'm totally up to date, yes. And, yes, the character change would work, I think (although writing Damon still scares me). Still, I guess it's only three lines . . .

Think of it as a challenge. And yes, it IS only three lines :)
