Well I've finished. Feel a bit dazed and confused (not suprising after four hours sleep followed by continuous reading) but some initial thoughts:

Erm as far as I can remember the list of main characters who died ran:

Mad-Eye Moody
Hedwig
Dobby
Snape
Fred Weasly
Lupin
Tonks

and then Voldemort is killed, also. I thinkt hat's it out of the big name characters but there's a lot of other casualties too.

I completely agree, the epilogue was the one part of the book I didn't like. It felt incredibly trite and I think on subsequent rereads I'll just stop on the last chapter.

Yeah, I mean as soon as I saw the 'Nineteen Years Later' I felt dubious, but I felt like I had to read it on my first reading. But now I can just pretend its not there.
