hmmm... kurt cobain. amen. he was a genius. did i ever tell you i was in seattle the day of his 10th death anniversary? it was a weird atmosphere. evreybody was just sad remembering how he died but at the same time everybody was just happy that he lived long enough to write the stuff that he did. it was actually a fun day. i had just finished reading his biography the month before and i plotted out a sightseeing route that took me to a couple of significant places in his life. it started at the pawnshop where he sold his first guitar for heroine money and ended at the house where he died. along the way all these people would be out on street corners playing his music in about a dozen different genres. ever hear teen spirit played with a saxophone? or in bloom by a string quartet? good stuff. good stuff that will never be heard again.
yeah, the 90's were awesome. nirvana, sound garden, stone temple pilots, pearl jam, alice in chains... oooh. alice in chains. another sad story... layne staley was as much, if not more, of a genius than
just click your heels together three times and say "happy endings happen, happy endings happen.." hehehe.. thank God all members of blur are still alive and well.
