Global warming meme

Are you concerned about global warming?
Do you want to do something about it?

There are practical things each one of us can do to lessen our impact on the environment -- saving energy, recycling, using less water are a few of those things.

This month I intended to change all my lightbulbs to energy efficient ones.

I just wanted you to know that this inspired me. I had already decided to change out my lightbulbs, but I'm not going to do it until the ones I have burn out, because it seems wasteful to throw away something that's still functional. But I finally went and bought a tote bag I can use at the grocery store rather than collecting a zillion plastic bags. It's small, but it's a start.

Cool. It's nice to inspire.

My main grocery store, Whole Foods, gives five cents for every bag you reuse. I often forget to bring the bags with me when I go shop so I end up accumulating them and feeling guilty. I have to make a better effort. See you inspired me too.

Hmm, I honestly try not to contribute to the environmental disaster...it helps that I don't have a car so I have to take the bus everywhere (what good that does) and I recycle, I'm nuts about turning off lights...probably the biggest thing I'd like to do regarding the environment is to get a Hybrid (when I get the cash, that is).

The public really needs to wake up to the whole environment issue. The supposed "Experts" and "Scientists" and "Qualified Professionals" are telling people that perhaps, humanity has more of an influence on the constantly deteriorating condition of earth than previously thought. Clearly humanity is to blame, since the earth was in relatively good shape eons ago. Capitalism is killing this planet, and it appears people will only wake up to a nice dose of reality when fireballs are hailing from the sky!

You can always join me on the environmental soapbox. Yes it's hard to argue with over a hundred scientists. I would love to get a hybrid too. It's expensive to live totally "green" but we can all do our individual parts. Many global corporations have goals to reduce CO2 emmissions every year (meeting or exceeding the Kyoto Protocol, which is encouraging.
