The other day, Rob picked up the latest Cosmopolitan magazine for me from the grocery store and I was really overjoyed to see that not only was Ashlee Simpson on the cover, she had been crowned the "Fun, Fearless Female of 2004" which is basically the Cosmo equivalent of woman of the year ( Read more... )

I really can't figure out how she is able to get on absolutely every TV show and magazine cover... I think perhaps some deal with Satan.

Even though I hate them, I will say that at least Jessica and Nick can carry a tune...Ashlee is just riding their gravy train with her Mom, Dad, and boyfriend (also managed by dear old dad) in the back.

It's a sign of the times. No one in Gollywood has any integerity these days and now we have to put up with Ashley's and Paris Hilton's. It's a regular slutfest.

Since I'm a glutton for punishment, I caught the new episode of the Ashlee reality show mostly hoping to see the contrived explanation for the lip synching, instead I got to watch Ashlee tell both her Mom and Dad separately to "fuck off" over the phone and then act suprised when they hung up on her. Cut to the scene of her moving into her new million dollar house and shopping...

...a true icon for all teens everywhere.

LOL, that crushing the head thing got me.

It's been obvious more people with no talent are in the spotlight, but she is like a slap-in-the-face wake-up call for anyone who wasn't paying attention.

And unfortunately for those with no talent...

But, they already had the no talent show!

Did you not catch that "Superstar USA" show last year on the WB? It was an American Idol ripoff where they had people who didn't realize they sucked competing. The winner learned at the end that she really sucked ass and that the audience was paid to clap and scream for her. The winner/worst singer got a recording contract because it is natural for all really bad singers to get one these days.

Sadly, now that record companies realize how easy it is to make a star out of a talentless teen twit, I'm sure that all the sucky contestants have been snapped up and will be releasing CDs soon.... ;)

With the crap on these days, I find TV hard to watch now. I am a Seinfeld/Friends addict though :D
