Jul 11, 2005 11:22

Herein lies the first chapter of my two-days late entry for the SchmangstFicAthon. It will be three chapters total, all coming out today.

The request:
Writing For: SparkySparky
Pairing Option #1: Xander/Andrew
Pairing Option #2: Xander/Larry
Brand of Hurt: Either is great
Wants: Some good sexy scenes, the fic either set in high school or Post S7, fluff with plot
Doesn't Want: character bashing (especially Buffy!Bashing), character death, etc.
Maximum Rating Preferred: NC-17
Additional Details: If Xander/Larry I would really like to see Larry as the comfortor, and if Xander/Andrew I would like Xander to be the one comforting.

The (brief) fic notes:
Title: Aim the Pointy End Towards the Heart
Pairing: Xander/Larry
Rating: Mature
Concrit: Well, I'd say yes but I'm a big wuss. Please bury anything negative in something positive, like when you have to pill a cat.
Warnings: high school age sex
Summary: Xander and Larry have something unexpected in common. Maybe even two somethings. Not dark; a lot of dialog, some plot, some sex.

Chapter I:
Xander sat alone in the locker room, shivering from his cold shower. Everything sucked. Where was he supposed to go now? Home just...wasn't an option. His father had been on a rampage for almost two weeks, and the bruises were starting to pile up. The swimming coach kicked him off the team today because he'd missed so many practices, and Xander couldn't very well tell him it was because he didn't want to take off his clothes. Buffy and Willow were both away until Monday, Giles was "entertaining", and god he didn't want to think too much about that.

Which left, well, nowhere. There were a couple of classrooms the janitors never touched, it wouldn't be the first time he used one of them to sleep in. Not the best solution, but for tonight, it would have to do. One of these days he was going to give it back to his dad. Wouldn't be until he'd convinced his mom to leave, though, there was no sense in both of them being hurt.

The motivation to get dressed was non-existent, and really, what was the rush since he wasn't going anywhere? Xander sat and contemplated his patheticness until the chills finally got to him. Standing up, he dropped the damp towel and rummaged around in his locker for some clothes. A bang right next to him made him jump in the air, and wasn't this the greatest cap off to his already incredibly sucky day. A run-in with Larry.

"Harris. Should have known you'd be wandering around naked in the locker room, you queer," Larry sneered as he looked him up and down. His face changed as he did so, and Xander knew he must be taking in all the marks. "Jesus, what the hell happened to you?"

Xander was in no mood to deal with the resident bully and spoke without thinking. "My dad. What's it to you?" he said, challenge in his voice. Whoops. It seemed telling someone wasn't as hard as he'd thought. Hell, what did he care what Larry thought anyway? He turned around again and starting pulling on some pants. Maybe the jerk would just leave now.

Instead, he felt a finger trace down a welt on his back. "Your own father did this?"

"That's what I said, isn't it?" snapped Xander, flinching away from the touch. To his surprise, Larry dropped heavily to the bench next to them.

"God Harris, if I'd known I never would have..." his voice trailed off and Xander jumped in, several years of bitterness urgently pushing him on.

"Never what, beaten the crap out of me for no reason? Gotten your jollies from messing with my head? Whatever, it's a little late for an apology now." He waved his hand dismissively in Larry's general direction and started pulling on a t-shirt, wincing as his arms stretched above his head. Damn that hurt.

"My dad did it to me too you know, until I got bigger than him," a voice said quietly. Xander felt a pang of empathy, but it disappeared under a sudden onslaught of fury. He loomed over Larry and it felt good to be taller, even if it was just temporary.

"So what, you decided to continue the family tradition by hitting other people?"

"I don't know, man. I just...my friends...it was funny." Larry frowned as he thought about it. "Maybe not so funny."

"Definitely not so funny," Xander agreed, de-looming and sitting down to reach for his shoes. "This bonding has been fun, Larry my friend, but it's time to snooze and I've got a classroom to choose, so if there's nothing else?"

"What do you mean, a classroom to choose?"

"Not going home tonight, ergo, staying here," Xander replied, huffing as he tied his sneakers. His ribs were killing him and he knew from experience they were going to get worse before they got better. Too bad he couldn't quite tape them himself.

"You mean, you're going to sleep at school?" Larry appeared to be truly perplexed by this, and Xander sighed. It's no wonder jocks were not known for their brain power.

"My friends are away for the weekend, and I don't want to deal with my dad tonight, so I plan to hang out here until tomorrow. Is that clear enough?" Xander tried to explain slowly and with small words. Larry looked slightly offended.

"I'm not stupid, man, I just didn't understand why you'd want to stay here," he said. "Look," he went on, seeming to come to a decision. "You can come home with me. I've got another bed in my room that I just keep my crap on. I'll clean it up and you'll have someplace to stay tonight."

Larry was so oddly earnest, Xander was having a hard time believing this all wasn't just an elaborate dream, or perhaps an alternate reality. Larry, the guy who had tormented him forever and make every possible moment he could a living hell, was offering him a place to sleep. It was beyond comprehension.

"What?" was all he could get out.

"Now who's slow," Larry said with a smile. Wow. It changed his whole face into something almost...human. It was also very convincing.

Xander wavered. "Let me get this straight. You are offering me, a person you have declared publicly and with much violent proof that you despise, a place to sleep so I don't have to stay overnight at the school?"

"Yup. Come on, let's go. Hate being out after dark around here, Sunnydale is freakin' weird at night." Larry stood up and waited until Xander gathered a few books and closed his locker before walking out of the room.

"You have no idea," Xander murmured under his breath as he followed Larry. "And it's just getting weirder."
