I also liked the Sarah Rees Brennan books, a lot! IDK why everyone has such a big problem with the Levithan bits of WG,WG tho. I liked them, like a lot, but then I am ok with lack of caps and I loooove D.Levithan, so. It was tough because will grayson is SUCH a dick at times, but yeah.

Ash and Possession are on my list for this year!

I preferred Demon's Covenant because, Mae! But Demon's Lexicon is so ambitiously written and clever.

Most of my thing was that I really disliked will grayson. Wasn't particularly enamoured with Will Grayson either but I liked the characters associated with him more and his parts had more of a positivity about them.

Possession is actually great. Just can be a bit of a slog - Victorian poetry by imaginary poets can be a bit of a slog. And Ash is wonderful.

Hahaha, I do not want to live in These Old Shades. But I am going to marry Frederica's little brother, Jessamy, so it'll work out well in a Heyer novel.

I love Possession and thoroughly enjoyed the Hunger Games series. And I discovered Georgette Heyer in the past year, too!

My favorite books of the last year were probably Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien, and The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti.

I have read some Tim O'Brien and enjoyed him. I should probably read more, but I still have so much Lorrie Moore to read!

Have you read 'Room' by Emma Donoghue? I didn't read it last year - I bought it yesterday and I've been whizzing through it. Amazing stuff.

It's about a little boy called Jack (age 5) and his mother, and they're locked inside a room and not allowed to leave. Based mildly on the Fritzl saga (but don't let that put you off) and told from Jack's point of view. It's just wonderful.

No, I haven't. Sounds fascinating though, I'll look it up.

Best books I read this year:
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
Edinburgh - Alexander Chee

I can't think what else. They were all pretty good.
I read lots, but I haven't finished reviewing all of them *sigh*

I really love Jane Eyre at the moment (I go back and forth on it a lot) - mostly because Jane is such a fierce character. I have many issues with the romance though.

And also, Charlotte Bronte is a bit of a dick.

Jane Eyre is one of my all-time faves.
