The assignment had been sent out by Jack days ago, and it had been easy for them to tail Michael and Tess around without them noticing. ...well, it was almost easy because Michael was careful with what they did, most likely already suspecting that they could be followed, but they had a way of getting around that. They always did. If Michael was good, they were simply better; it was the way things worked because they were advised and trained by Jack. This was everything Michael was missing. This was what Michael got, for betraying them.
As Tess got out of the club one of the men that was in on the job barely looked up from flirting shamelessly with another one of the dancers. They would start following her first, and then they would carry out their job.
It was finally time.
