Whatever it takes.

Takes place after this (WIP).

After hanging up with Wes, Michael headed to all the spots around the city where Jack could be. It was pointless, and he knew it, but what else would he do? No one believed that Jack was alive because he had no proof of it. Damian would probably call him crazy, along with Stephen, and he didn't need that. Not right now, because he was in the right mindset to shoot them if they even suggested that Tess had just left to get away for a few days or something idiotic like that.

But at the end of the day Tess was still nowhere to be found. Jack was nowhere to be found. Marc, Alena... They were all just gone.

Surprisingly enough, though, Michael kept calm. At least in the sense that he wasn't off shooting anyone who would stand in front of him simply because he couldn't find Tess. Which was...shocking, considering the mood he was in.

Kyle's door opening abruptly snapped Michael out of his thoughts. "Kyle," he said as he rubbed the back of his neck with a sigh. "I... I need your help." He would know something, he figured. Or hoped, actually; Kyle had worked with Jack as much as Michael had. "Jack took Tess."

Those seemed to be the magic words, and at once Kyle brought Michael inside even if he looked as if he had already been sleeping. As Kyle served some whiskey for both of them, Michael paced as he told him everything he could remember; every detail of the past few days and even weeks, trying to figure out something even if it was easier said than done.

Once he finished talking, Michael noticed that Kyle was too quiet and staring down at the glass he had just emptied. "...what is it?"

"There is one person that could help you," Kyle responded carefully, barely looking up to meet his eyes. "Whenever Jack needed to handle something like this, taking someone and finding a safe-spot, he would have Zack Reynolds take care of everything. I can get you in touch with him."

"...how in the hell would you be able to do that? I thought-..." Michael blinked in surprise, frowning. "You went back to work with those bastards?"

Kyle just shrugged, busying himself by refilling the glass. "Rent needed to be paid, Mike."

"Bullshit." Michael's jaw clenched for a moment as he watched him, but soon enough he just shook his head. "But, you know, if that's what you want to keep doing, then by all means do it. I can't stop you. All I need is a number, or where I can find him."

"Michael, it won't be cheap--"

"I. don't. care."

Silence followed, and Kyle just stared at Michael for a moment before he nodded and took out his phone. "Let me handle everything. I'll let you speak to him in a bit, I just need to clarify who you are first."

But Michael wasn't paying too much attention anymore. He just kept pacing, actually praying that Tess would be okay. She had to be, she just...

She had to be.
