RotM: 1.88. Mun Prompt - "New Year's Resolutions"
What is your New Year's resolution as the writer for this muse? Is there something that you want to explore with them this year? Look ahead at your muse's 2008, and consider what you will do the same and differently.
Basically I want to dig him out of the hole I dug him in with the storyline that just wrapped up. When I first got the storyline started I never, ever thought it would turn out the way it did and that Mike would be so broken after it. He was supposed to get better after it! Honestly, he was. The plan was that he was going to break off ties that way with Jack and the rest, get started with a new chapter of his life, he even proposed to Tess in one thread once, and it just wasn't supposed to be how it is now.
So that's my goal. I want him to go back to being at least somewhat similar to how he used to be. As much as I "complained," I want to see him being the smart ass again, and the tough guy who's a softie somewhere underneath the exterior. I loved playing and writing him that way, and right now he feels so far from that that I don't even recognize him anymore. I have even contemplated dropping him, which I did to a certain extent, but...well I'm still here so I guess I haven't given up yet. ;)
My resolution for this year for Mike: Make him interesting again, and make him better than how he was before. I know I can do it. As crazy as it may sound, he and I just need to reach some sort of "common ground" and start from there so he won't clam up on me and I can go back to "channeling" him again.
