I was listening to Melody Gardot singing, "I'm a Fool" as I read it and maybe that had something to do with it but really, this was great. The pacing, first Eames, then Eames and Cobb and Mal and then Eames and Arthur (and Arthur's scary subconscious-bloody chainsaws, ick!) and finally concerned Arthur and then devastated Arthur. It was perfectly done and I wanted to save Eames as much as Arthur did. It was really special the way you managed to cram their life togethre in all of Eame's last random thoughts and worries for Arthur. Excellent use of the repetition trope to create a unique story and world.
Tissues! Tissues all around!! Yeah...the bloody chainsaws were an afterthought, but it's good to know they had the effect they did. Poor Eames. I halfway wanted to save him too, but the prompt refused. :( The last random thoughts were meant to be especially bittersweet, and I'm glad it worked for you. Thanks for reading, dear!
