Baren ended up sleeping with us, after all.  I opened the bedroom door after shutting down the laptop and brushing my teeth, and there he was, standing right on the other side of the door.  Cindy had a feeling he would start whining if we shut him out completely, so I left it open enough for him to be able to nudge the door open, himself.

I totally feel the same, especially on free speech FTM, which I almost feel was created just for transmen to freely express their intolerance for genderqueer folks! :)

I was also going to write a little bit about how Cind and I discussed universal healthcare coverage in relation to trans-healthcare provisions, and how our hour-long discussion was being played out in the comments to one specific post in the fsftm lj, but that is a rather complex topic that would take forever to write down. If anyone cares to discuss the issue further, we can start up our own string of back-and-forth comments here. so, when i went to FORGE i attended a workshop on trans inclusion in healthcare, and the POV of the presenter was that we need to focus on getting major corporations to cover trans care so that it will be covered when universal healthcare (hopefully) comes around. my opinion is that we need to do a two-pronged approach: getting everyone to have a broader view of what "medically necessary" means and making sure that everyone has equal access to these "medically necessary" treatments. i don't think that "trans inclusion" just on some top-of-the-line policies, or self-insurance by huge giant corporations ( ... )
