[Taking the trip to the South Pole had held nothing but excitement for Sokka. Sharing his home with Suki in such an informal way way a great step forward, and he couldn't wait to show her everything. In fact, he'd practically been busting at the seams the whole trip south

[There was such a mixture of feelings going on in Suki right now. She was excited to be going to the South Pole, but she was so nervous too. There was no reason to be nervous, but she couldn't help it. And right when she calmed herself down, Sokka came storming in.]

What's wrong?

Gran Gran's crazy, that's what's wrong! [He's packing things almost immediately, shoving stuff they didn't even bring into his bag.] I told her we came here to visit, right? Visit. Nothing official. Because what's ever official in the Southern Tribe?

[Sokka tosses his arms into the air, obviously ranting about something specific. Something he hasn't let her in on yet, apparently.]

[And now he's shoving some furs into the already heaping bag, frustrated, muttering to himself the whole while.]

[His reaction did not make Suki happy. She glared over at him and knelt down beside him.] Sokka. What is going on? What did Gran Gran say?

[Sokka, if you think you are going to continue packing, you couldn't be more wrong. Suki wasn't going to let him do anything else until he told her what was gong on.]

[Well, then he's going to repack what he's got in the bag already!] You know how we had to wait a while to come here? I said we couldn't leave right away because the ice was soft, but that wasn't true.

[Sokka sighs and stops his packing, looking over at Suki.] I wanted to come now because that's when we throw the New Moon Festival. [A frown.] I wanted to bring you to the festival.
