Since I'm pretty new to LJ I decided to do this 30 day Jpop meme, so people can learn a little something about me. :3
Here's the first question.
Day 1: Your favorite Jpop group
Wow, there's is no way I could ever choose just one group. So, my top two would have to be Puffy AimYumi and Morning Musume. I bet most people were expecting me to put a JE group. I do love JE a lot, but I've only been listening to JE for 2 years. I've been listening to PUFFY for 6 years and H!P for 4 years. It's pretty obvious that these groups are my favorite.
PUFFY:
I am such a loser when it comes to Puffy AmiYumi. When I first got into Japanese music they were one of the first Japanese music I've ever heard. And there was a time where I knew absolutely everything about them. And I listened to nothing but them. Over the years I've been focusing on idol music more, but that doesn't mean PUFFY isn't completely epic in every way. They've been around for over a decade and they still rock! They are still coming out with some of the best singles around. Hiyori Hime, Kuchibiru Motion, Boom Boom Beat, Nice Buddy. And those are only my favorite singles from the past few years. It is impossible to pick up a PUFFY CD and not like at least 1 song. Heck, I can hardly think of one PUFFY song that didn't blow my socks off. (Japanese songs of course, their English ones are pretty questionable. Except Radio Tokyo and Security Blanket, they're just epic.) Stray Cats Fever, K2G, Puffy's Rule, Destruction Pancake, Jet Keisatsu, and Sui Sui are some of my favorite album songs.
Morning Musume:
Oh Momusu, they're pretty much the idol group that can do no wrong in my eyes. A lot of people say they suck lately, but I don't think they do. If the A-side sucks the B-side usually owns. If they release and album there's usually at least 4 amazing songs. Yes, even on Fantasy! Juuichi. They have been around for over a decade, had 8 generations, and the 9th is on their way soon. They are constantly changing styles, so you hardly know what to expect from them. And they have some of the best idol lyrics out there. I can't count how many of their songs I relate to. And have you heard Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game? It is absolutely incredible. I honestly can't go one day without listening to them.
