So, I'm thinking about maybe trying NaNo again this year. My problem is that I'm not sure what to write. I've got a couple of ideas I could run with, including a twisted fairy tale that I think could be fun, but I have a bit of a weight on my back that won't be ignored either. And it's name is 'Smokes and Mirrors'. So I guess what I'm curious about

I need to chime in here and say YES!!!, please do finish Smokes and Mirrors. Like many of the others I too check often to see if there have been any updates. I love the original characters you have created and I really want to see how it ends for them as well as Weiss.
