snow day!

Yesterday I had the day off, and though it would be a good plan to go get groceries for turkey-day stuff. Even though t was snowing. It was really just a little snow, not more than a couple inches. You could still see the grass poking up through it. The roads hadn't been plowed, but they really weren't bad even so; it was just a little snow, and I ( Read more... )

That pretty much sums up how I felt about Richmond drivers after growing up in the hills of Pennsylvania. What's worse is, around here, the Department of Transportation doesn't know how to clean the roads. Good luck in the snow, and I hope your holiday is spectacular.

Oh, the cleaning the roads part is terrible here; I think King co. has maybe 3 snow plows, total. And they don't use salt, or put anything down when snow is predicted. I *passed* a plow, and it wasn't doing anything but driving in the traffic jam!

One of those universal conundrums. It's just snow.

You'd think folks would learn the necessary skills and move on. But NOOOO. AIEEEEEE.... SNOOOOOOOOOOOO

Re "just a little snow, not more than a couple of inches":

Um, once the word "inches" is involved, it's not "just a little snow". Not around here.

And I have no idea what a snowplow even looks like. You've told me they're apparently plowing our neighborhood now, and it is a neighborhood that is particularly difficult to get in and out of in the snow, but for someone to decide to use what's got to be the only plow in the county *here* just seems bizarre to me. I mean, if they're actually using one now, then why wouldn't they use that where it would help more people? Or did they actually come up with more than one? *Really*? Wow. Just *weird*. Really weird.
