You wanna know my absolute favourite moment in VS?

When Ray shows Victoria to Frannie's room and we get the "so you're Ray" "and you're Victoria". Ray's manner here is incredible, evidently sizing Victoria up so that it's obvious how much they're rivals for Fraser's attention and affection.

The more I watch this ep, the more I fall in love with Ray.

Yes that is like two love rivals meeetimg isn't it? Ray clearly understand Victoria at the end of that brief meeting than Fraser has during thos edays they soent together in his partment.

And so much love for Ray in VS. Poor guy.

Add:

Fraser is apparently OK with mass damage of private property in the name of saving Ray's butt from IA people. (Which is so very confusing, since you'd think causing more private property damage would just add to Ray's problem, especially since IA's been trying to nail Ray since the dawn of time or something.)

Even the IA people know Fraser and Ray are "together".

Ray shot Fraser but was aiming for Victoria. (Kill the rival! *cough*)

I think I'll have to add those to the list. Yet more persuaion.

And Yeah Fraser is frantic looking for that key. But he;s not thinking striaght throughout the episode really.

And yeah the IA people do make a big deal of how Fraser and Ray are such good friends.

I wonder what would have happened had Ray shot Victoria. Would Fraser ever forgive him?

Fraser doesn't think straight when he's in love. Yet more proof the guy is emotionally dependent. He's an emotional leech. He needs someone to tell him what to do or he just makes a big mess of things. And therefore more need for Ray. And I think I'm twisting canon into something it really shouldn't be. Anyway ( ... )

Actually that's an ineresting thought. When yout hink about it Fraser has needed someone thoughout his entire life to tell him what to do; his father, grandmother, the RCMP. He seems to prefer it when the choices he has to make are confined ewithin something, like his duty. He wstruggles witha free rein like he has when he's in love. There's so many possibilities he struggles to find the right path because he's not being told what it is. Ray doesn;t tell him but helps steer him int he right direction thus balancing Fraser's need for direction but also giving him a bit of a free rein.

The IA people are pretty dumb if they think Fraser and Ray were stupid enough to spend stolen money, especially when their serial numbers were ( ... )

This episode is, as a number of people have said, definitely about two love stories. The look of love as Fraser is arrested is one of the most romantic things I've ever seen on television!

It really is. And that look - wow. You can hardly believe it. Serious love.

Hey, that's true! He doesn't say 'the only one' he says 'the only woman.' Hmmmm...

Indeed. That's really what got me. I wonder why... I did have a long since dead fic on that very fact.

Well, what with the big evil plan, she must have known who Ray was before she met up with Fraser. But I prefer to think that Fraser's told her all about him because that would be nicer.

I rpefer to think of that too. Maybe she knew a bit but she had no idea about how much Fraser loves adores depends on Ray until he told her.

Heh. They do too. They get treated like a couple!

They do don't they? Like Bonnie and Clyde...

Coming in a tad late.

For me, VS, is one of the most slashy episodes of dS. It's crammed full of F/V moments, oddly enough especially once Victoria rears her pretty little head.

The way Ray is when the other's ask him is he's met Victoria and he says of course he has, when he hasn't, is so touching. As is the way Ray goes to Fraser and has a go at him. But then takes Victoria into his home and the warning not to hurt Fraser - boy was that said in a slashy way.

A pivotal episode, IMO.

Which reminds me, I must get my version of the shooting story written/finished one of these fine days.

I agree. Once she appears the subtext really takes off ina way we haven;'t seen before. Perhaps because the prescence of an outside influence makes it clearer.

Yeah poor Ray he must feel quite betrayed but he never lets onto Welsh and the Duck boys. I also have no doubt he meant every word he said to Victoria.

Can I bribe you with anything?

Thank you.

Oh, yes, it most definitely does. It could be because of this, that's a good suggestion.

Oh, yes, indeed. He was in so much pain. And I don't either. *Shiver*

:-) Well now, let me think . . .

He was. And I would not want to get on his bad side either.

I have cake ;-)
