There's a lot here form one particualr scene. I bet you can guess which one it is.

Letting GoRay is with Fraser as he is wheeled in. When the doctor tells him - you might want to call somebody’ you can see how worried Ray is. And of course Ray is the person they would call if he wasn’t there ( Read more... )

And something slightly more subtle than subtext: the way Ray clams up and gets defensive about Fraser's injury. That he has to go see a shrink clearly shows that he's NOT DEALING with the incident, but Ray refuses to talk about it. Knowing that Ray is the emotional mature one who can deal with crises, it just goes to show how deeply the event affected him.

That's true. Both of them aren't really talking about it preferring to keep it all hidden from the view of both each other and from the view of outsiders. I really doubt Jill Kennnedy for example ever realises what really went on because it's treated as such a private thing. They both get on the defensive when people ask about it, even Fraser gets short with Kill Kennedy but with Ray it's really noticeable.

His reaction to the shrink is a sign of a man angry at himself but not wanting for others to help him work it out.

This ep is chock full of sub-text and, IMO, text. It's extremely slashy in overt and covert ways.
