Time for another subtext post.

The Witness

Fraser is at the trial Ray is appearing at.

Notice the pride in Fraser’s eyes and the little glance they seem to be having as Ray gives evidence.

Fraser says St Laurent wants to kill Ray. I wonder why….

St Laurent says: Oh God the other one. Old habits die hard, eh, Vecchio?

No personal space as they walk down the corridor.

Fraser helps Ray look for the notebooks leading Welsh to ask what his involvement is. Ray says strictly unofficial.

Ray comments on Fraser’s filing.

They brush against each other near the filing cabinet and share a look when they wonder where Elaine is.

Fraser waits outside whilst Ray is in with the judge.

Ray tells Fraser he is on his own and that he saw a light.

Fraser’s face as Ray is led away is one of shock, disbelief and hurt.

Fraser is positive Ray would not fabricate evidence - belief.

Ray sets out to prove Ray’s innocence.

Ray has given Fraser the keys to the Riv

Fraser gets short with Mrs Torres - worried about Ray.

The talk in prison - eye contact - synchronised putting the phone back. Fraser’s wistful look.

Fraser gets himself arrested so he can go to prison to be with Ray and help him.

Ray is clearly worried about Fraser being in prison.

Ray’s amusement at Fraser admitting he ‘stole’ milk duds.

Eye contact over the table.

Fraser gives Ray a book by Proust.

They share a look in the exercise yard.

Yet more eye contact in the infirmary.

Fraser suggests they take in a movie,

They together in the room during the movie.

They stand together in the toilets .

Fraser refuses the transfer.
