Wow abebooks looks very interesting. And it has a lot more options for those out of print books. I am all for independent booksellers. Will be looking into that one further.

I might try them to see how they are. I have heard people ordering from Waterstones without any trouble so...

I saw that in another comm, and yeah exactly WTF.

My other go to for books is 'the book despository'; they're generally cheaper and more prompt than amazon anyway.

I've ordered lots of books from Waterstones.com without any problems and if you have a points card, you can build up points while you spend as well.

For DVDs you can probably go to play.com, I haven't bought as much stuff there as I have from amazon, but they also don't charge postage on their products.

I have used play.com in the past. My only issue with them is the length of delivery sometimes (although since Amazon outsourced DVDs it's no quicker).
