The Subtext I See - The Promise

Jul 10, 2009 09:27

So two years ago I put together some SUBTEXT POSTS. However I lost the notebook in August 2007. Well I found it a couple of weeks ago and I've started typing up my notes again. So here we are, carrying on from where I left off with 'The Promise'.

The Promise

Who does Fraser go to for help finding the broach? - Ray of course.

They have no personal whatsoever as they watch the interrogation especially when Fraser leans over Ray's shoulder to whisper in his ear.

The way Fraser looks at Ray.

The way Fraser says Ray has 'occasionally a nasal quality'.

Welsh needs to distract Ray from the case so he tells Fraser to take Ray with him on his case.

Ray calls Fraser a sap.

Banter with Latin!

Ray is the suffering spouse as he tells Fraser he hates it when he goes hmmmmmm.

Ray follows Fraser into the sewer.

And there is banter on the sewer. Including Ray telling Fraser 'not to put that' in his mouth.

Ray has ruined 24 suits for Fraser.

Fraser offers Ray a hanky.

There's teamwork as one takes the girl, one takes the guy.

They were talking together at Ray's desk when Thatcher comes over.

Fraser shares more of his past with Ray - telling Ray about boiling his shoes. And there's no personal space as he does so.

They discuss the case in the men's room. They are the only ones in there.

And no personal space as they hit the tattoo parlours.

Fraser accompanies Ray to the Senator's office to keep an eye on him.

They are shoulder shoulder and looking like two naughty boys as they are told off by Welsh.

In the stakeout they are together in the Riv (okay so the brother is there too).

Ray catches Fraser before he falls and look at that smile.

Fraser says Miss St Laurent hates Ray.
