I really do recommened it. It has interesting storylines, a very interesting setting and character interactions really are brilliant.

And my Mum is a big fan ;-)

I love it, pretty much for all the reasons you list. I don't think I've managed to see all the episodes, but I've probably seen most of them. And yes, the microwave ray gun. Priceless.

Yay another fan. I think I've seen most episodes twice but it holds up well, even under rewatching.

The microwave gun was a stroke of genius. Literally.

And I had the villian pegged from her appearance.

Ha. I was nowhere near as observant, although I did eventually work it out before getting told!

What makes me giggle about many of the episodes is the way Crabtree is used to channel the inevitable predictions of future inventions that either Murdoch's methods or things like the micro ray gun suggest. You can see the "joke" being wound up and launched at you from a mile, but it makes me smile anyway.

I think I worked it out based on the spoilers I relentlessly hunted down before the episode where she was introduced.

I love Crabtree's ideas of the future that of course totally accurate but that make open minded Murdoch raise an eyebrow in disbelief. So funny.

You're so right. I love this show.

It's like CSI if CSI had to invent things first.

Best description ever.

Also bonus as ACD is played by Geraint Wyn Davies who was in Forever Knight, way back when :)

I really have to get hold of this, I don't think I've even seen any of series 3. I'm so glad it keeps getting renewed!

have you read any of the original books? I only got hold of the first one, but it's pretty good iirc.

Yes I didn't recognise him on his first appearance I kept thinking he's familar from somewhere...

Yep. Series 4 is due to start filming today and filming runs until November. So it should air early next year.

I keep meaning to. I should try and track them down at work.
