Upgrades of all kinds

A number of you are already familiar with alchemilla_'s ready generosity toward her friends. I've been fortunate enough to call her my benefactor for two years now, as she has gifted me with a paid LJ account (which I still think of as giving me "legitimacy"). I've had many occasions to appreciate the benefits my kind sponsor has made possible ( Read more... )

I for one am "amening" the generosity of Alch. I always wish there was something I could do to give back -- but maybe the Frodo/Aragorn I plan to post later today will help just a bit? :-) *hugs to you both*

I'm sure Alch loved your Frodo/Aragorn post. I'd have a better idea if I opened it and saw the comment she must have left, but I'm waiting until the whole story is done before I read it (I assume that "romance on the quest" means it's not an mpreg, right? ::chuckles::). My last foray into WIPs was for "Lamentable Stranger", in part because it originally wasn't supposed to be as much of a WIP as it turned out to be. ;) I know what you mean about giving back, though. I'm afraid I don't have anything to contribute, but I think you do just fine with your fics.

Yes, Lamentable Stranger was a strange one -- because I was inspired enough to get the skeleton out all at once and think I was done, but as I worked to edit the previous chapters to post, I discovered things I wanted done at the end, which involved rewriting whole sections -- d'oh! :-D

And no...no mpreg in the quest Aragorn fic, hee hee (I'm saving that for Lily Baggins for the Frodo/Boromir post-quest fic for her! ;-D)

She is one of the loveliest, most generous people out there, isn't she? I'm hopefully meeting her next month and can hardly wait.

::recognizes your Icon by Alch::

Yes, she certainly is. And she's sincere about things, too, like you. I think it's wonderful that you're going to meet up. I can imagine how well you'll get along. What an assembly that'll be! ::smiles::

I absolutely adore alchemilla_; she is unbelievably kind hearted, it's true. She's also very supportive and, what I love about her, she's got a naughty sense of humour and she worships our Bendyboy. I know I'm preaching to the converted here, but once I get started! Suffice to say that when she comes to stay with me in less than 5 weeks (omg!!!!), I am going to spoil her silly and we, and beruscats and baranduin are going to have such a great time :)

tiny ott: I was unable to access the internet all of yesterday and was so frustrated, I opened up not only "Horse Whisperer" and did more of that, but also that Alexlijah...

You know you're going to get this icon in reply when you use that one, right? ::laughs::

I'm glad you got started, it's always nice to see loving things said about a friend. ::smiles:: And it's really easy to picture you spoiling her at your place (you're rather kindhearted yourself). The four of you -- and possibly _grievousangel too, right? -- are quite a combination. It'll be amazing! I definitely think the whole thing should be documented. ::grins::

I'm sorry you couldn't get Internet and were frustrated, but I can't say I mind that you ended up doing some more writing as a result. ::chuckles:: I quite like your choices. Actually, I hadn't forgotten that Elijalex (as I like to call it). Every now and then, I've wondered if you'd bailed on it or if you might do it and I've tried to remember the little ideas I had about it.

How wonderful indeed, and how very like her. *smiles* I'm glad you got to talk, as well.

*hugs you both*

Yes, it is and yes, it is. ::grins:: And that chat came after a long dry spell, so it was very good.

:D

Nothing wrong with letting people swell your head from time to time. (Ahem. You're thinking that sounds like a fic line, aren't you?) I was hoping some of our mutual friends would join in with comments, and they did. ::smiles:: So enjoy the good vibes.
