After a long and possibly welcome break, I return to the topic of my icon-making "adventures". (The term is pretty laughable, since I don't produce anything approaching the work of the talented iconists on LJ. I've nevertheless had an incident or two on the way to getting some of my ideas onscreen

Here's what I hear: blah blah blah blah icons blah blah blah icons
Heh. It's why I don't make them hardly at all! :D

This entry is totally blah blah blah blah, isn't it? ::laughs:: Your comment reminds me of something I read that said when you talk to your pet, what it hears is "Blah blah blah blah Spot blah blah blah food blah blah blah" and so on. ::chuckles:: Sound like Khalil?
I see you have a new icon maker, so maybe you'll start making them more often. ;)

Also, *hug*. Nice to see you posting.
was just thinking about you in that Blink-182 sort of way.

Well, it's boring not much of a post. ::snickers:: I'll admit, it's not easy to tell the difference, especially without blowing up the images, although "tease" is very noticeable to me, and "never tell" is lighter. Knowing that future icons won't suffer from reduced quality is as good as being able to fix the old ones.

May I offer you my humble services for your icon-making adventures ...?
Because, as you know, I happen to be able to do animated gifs, provided you don't want slow transitions - they blow up the size. Though I'd need to check first if my program accepts pngs, but I hope it does.
And out of curiosity, pngs do meet the required 40kb? Whoa, that's interesting.
*looks forward to the Great GIPing to start*

It's not a very interesting post, but it's something. Thank you. ;)
Nice big-feathered pirate! tin!hat.
Your services would be most welcome in my icon-making adventures. I remember your animating abilities very well. Including something about wanting to go even more slowly ... I think all my ideas call for transitions that go directly from one pic to the next (no fades), so that shouldn't blow up the size. I've only come up with simple concepts. ::chuckles:: It's no problem if your program doesn't accept PNGs. I'm still saving my original images as bitmaps and then converting them to PNGs, so I can just send you the bitmaps. There's no rush, I won't be getting to them for a while. I never got all the images ready, partly because of the animation aspect. There are other things that need to be done first (and you know what one of them is), and the usual lack of time, and then there's the matter of our "schedules". So it may not happen soon, but I'll gladly take you up on your offer ( ... )

*waves hat again, yeah, it's a nice hat, isn't it?*
At your service! I just checked my animation program. It accepts pngs, so, when you have time send the pics my way and tell me what you want to be done with them. It should be easy :-)
Very interesting what you say about pngs - I think I'll look into that, too. Because sometimes the quality actually deteriorates when you resize pics. But with me the png file is still bigger, for example one pic has 29kb as a jpeg and 79kb as png. Still, I'll keep that in mind for *my* next icon-making adventures.
And just so you know *sigh* I won't be on next Monday because there's a meeting I have to attend, so ... well, I'm sure we'll make it, hopefully sooner, not later.
