At last, I get to give a greatly anticipated GIP its moment in the sun. ::grins:: I'm proud and pleased to present my long-awaited, much-celebrated Viggo/Elijah icon by alchemilla. ::fanfare

I more than like it, Alch. ::smiles:: Just as I've liked many things you've done including videos, so that means you've done a lot of good. And I'm sure there's more to come.
Thank you for the haiku feedback (I'm using the second line as the icon's keyword). The poem was an unexpected and welcome bonus, and I'm very happy that you approve, since it was derived from your excellent work. ::pleased::
Didn't Alch do a fantastic job? ::grins:: I'm glad you think the haiku is chilling -- I was definitely not going for the warm fuzzies. ;)
By the way, I was thoroughly disoriented when I first came across your new LJ layout (then I adjusted), because you're practically the only person I know who kept one layout for about as long as I've had mine. ::chuckles:: And we used to have the same one, too. I like your new look, especially after you made the links blue, so they stand out. Nice going.
Oh, thank you!! I did tweak the coloring a little, like I made the text black instead of the original gray because the gray was hurting/straining my eyes.
I'm all about staying as simple as possible, but my old layout (which I did love dearly, lol!), wouldn't allow for the links on the side! :-)
The icon is gorgeous-- you know I am woefully deficient next to your eye for visual detail, but it seems to capture everything you've said. It's oddly bright and dark at the same time, edges like shadowed alleys.
::nods:: Alch really came up with a gem. And I suspected you'd get what I said about it.
It's oddly bright and dark at the same time
Perhaps what's "bright" about it isn't happy-fluffy stuff, it's the satisfaction they get from accepting the darkness in the relationship.
I know you pay attention to poems, so thank you for saying the haiku fits the icon. I think the idea (and it wasn't necessarily my idea) was for the haiku to give the icon a voice.

because neither of them can leave it.
Yes, exactly.
And I think the haiku fits it precisely.
