OK, I am re-purposing (sort of) a private entry that had the draft of the 2022 prompts table in it, because I can't find a way for 2024-LJ to me post a table. Good grief...
I'll link to this post from

Prompt - Notes
01 Dec
02 Dec
Spirit(s) - whether you interpret it as getting into the Christmas spirit, spiking the punch at the holiday party, or going to see A Christmas Carol, I think you can use this to give us a spirit-ed start to the Drabble Days! ;-)
02 Dec
03 Dec
International Day of Persons with Disabilities - this UN-sanctioned day was established in 1992, so it's fair to think that it could come up with someone in the show, but feel free to honor the theme of the day by addressing anything about accessibility and equality for/inclusion of persons with disabilities without using the name of the day itself. ('Two Will Do' day for art -- it would be easy to unintentionally go wrong with this one...)
05 Dec
06 Dec
Spice - you could go the 'nutmeg & ginger' route, debate the appropriate spice level for the chili for a potluck, find a way for Blair (or Jim!) to add a little 'spice' to the season ;-) -- there are a lot of paths open to you here!
07 Dec
08 Dec
Snow/Ice - a perennial favorite of mine, and another that I can divide up into like a dozen different prompts, but this year, eh, just about anything is open here -- I was going to suggest you limit it to weather-related ice, but hey, why not, you want to do an ice sculpture because they guys go on a cruise to escapte the holiday drama, or just ponder ice cubes in a drink, go for it (just remember to keep it seasonal somehow)
09 Dec
10 Dec
Decoration - Purely decorative or religiously significant, a specific piece or the collective decorations of the whole block/office/city, just the act of decorating itself, I don't care -- I'm combining a lot of past prompts under this single umbrella this year. :-)
11 Dec
12 Dec
Yule Lads &/or Yule Cat &/or Grýla and Leppalúði - OK, so maybe I've just seen a few too many Red One ads ;-), but I think this is the year for Icelandic holiday folklore! (If you really aren't into that, you can have "Miracle" as an alternate, because golly, it's sure a year for that one... Either way, a "Two Will Do" for art.)
13 Dec
14 Dec
Warm - (to counteract the snow & ice! Take this wherever you want: the guys have to warm up after being drenched in the Cascade rain, they witness something heart-warming, they discuss the differences in holiday traditions between cultures in cold vs warm climates, it's all good!
15 Dec
16 Dec
Las Posadas - If we've done this, it hasn't been recently -- this largely Latin-American Christmas tradition began in Mexico in the 16th century (or so Wikipedia tells me ;-)) and continues to be celebrated from December 16th-24th, though the details have varied over the years and the miles.
17 Dec
18 Dec
Festive Food - to keep with the collapsing of multiple prompts into broader categories this year, you can go with any kind of seasonably-appropriate things here, from Christmas cookies to latkes to a pan-holiday potluck. I started to say 'Go for it, make us hungry!" -- and then decided hey, make us hungry or gross us out with failed or freaky festive food, that could be fun! :-)
20 Dec
21 Dec
Solstice - along with Hanukkah & Christmas Eve, one we do every year, so I leave it to you to find a new spin this year. :-)
21 Dec
22 Dec
Hanukkah -- Hanukkah actually begins on Christmas Day this year, which last happened in 2005, the year of the first Secret Santa in the original community (and before that, in 1959!). We include this prompt every year, with this standard statement: "Especially given that Blair is canonically Jewish, Hanukkah is more than appropriate to appear in any Drabble Day offering, but it's a must-have for this Day."

Christmas Eve - as always!
