the confession 05.

PG Romance, Fluff, Friendship
Five times Kame tries to confess... Well Kame tries to confess, Koki tries to help and Jin... Jin is just a baka.
a/n. I wanted this to be a one-shot but I realized that I need a prologue which introduces the reader to the actual story. So I decided to turn it into a multichapter fic, I wrote the prologue and I'm planning to kind of extend the chapters, but I guess they will be short anyways. There will be five chapters, each describes one of Kame's failed(?) attempts to confess and there will be an epilogue, of course. Enjoy and comment if you read!
This fic is dedicated to
blaztdard in the hope of giving her strength and encouragement! I hope you will like it, Veruthy! *hugs*

“Mou…. KAZUUUUU!!!”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry…” Kame panted, leaning on his knees, trying to catch his breath somehow. “Can… can we try it again?”
“Kazuuuuuu, what’s with you? Try to concentrate!!!” Jin whined after he had collided with Kame for the nth time during practice that day.
“JIN, SHUT YOUR MOUTH UP!” Koki shouted angrily, causing everyone to look at him in surprise.
“What did you say baldy?” Jin turned to him, clenching his fists, trying to look very frightening but failing, of course.
Koki just rolled his eyes. “WHAT? YOU DIDN’T HEAR ME? YOU’RE NOT ONLY STUPID BUT ALSO DEAF? AND DON’T TALK TO KAME LIKE THIS OR I SWEAR I PUNCH YOU SO YOU WILL BE UGLY AS WELL. HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU MESS UP THE CHOREOGRAPHY, YOU ASSHOLE? DON’T YOU DARE TO BLAME HIM FOR YOUR OWN STUPIDITY!” and with this Koki stormed out of the room, leaving Jin there with his mouth open and blinking in shock.
“What is his problem?” Jin groaned in annoyance and turned to look at Kame who was still panting hard and wiping his sweaty forehead.
Jin shot him a last worried look before he turned to the choreographer. “Can we stop here for today?” he asked and faking a tired sigh, he added. “I’m dead. I can’t go on anymore.”
“Why am I not surprised, Akanishi?” the young dancer muttered then clapped his hands. “Ok, guys, that’s it for today, take a break before the photo shoot.”
As they were left alone, Jin rushed to Kame’s side and handed him a bottle of water. “Are you okay, Kazu?”
Kame straightened up and rubbed his chest, wincing. “No.”
“What-what’s wrong? Does it hurt? Where? Your heart? Heart attack??? Does your heart hurt?” Jin paled and almost dropped the bottle, eyeing the younger man’s pained expression.
Kame shot him a death glare. “Exactly. My heart hurts. So you better stay away from me, Akanishi.” he hissed to his band mate’s face and ran out of the room, wiping his face and ignoring the gaping Jin.
♫
“Kamenashi-kun, please go a little bit closer to Akanishi-kun. A little more. Ok, turn your head this way. Kamenashi-kun, you stepped away from Akanishi-kun, can you step back? Closer. Closer. CLOSER!!! Kamenashi-kun, please!!! Arghhh, I give up.” the photographer closed his eyes in frustration, sighing heavily in and out in order to calm down then signaled to the others to pack and leave the scene as soon as possible. Idols. Arghhh, never again.
“Kazu, please.” Jin begged, running after Kame who was already walking out of the building in such a speed that Jin stumbled over his feet three times until they reached the front door. But Jin’s pleas were to no avail as Kame didn’t even spare him a glance.
“Kazu… Kazu…” Jin slowered his steps and stared at the younger man’s back, desperation started to rise inside him and he stomped his feet angrily on the marble floor. “Do you really hate me so much?”
Kame stopped. After a long second he slowly turned around and stared at the older man in disbelief, before his expression began to change. Then he started walking towards him with a murderous look on his face, with his lips pressed into a thin line, his eyes glistening dangerously and Jin suddenly felt the urge to run away.
“Hate you?” Stepping closer, Kame asked back in a low tone that made Jin step back in fear.
“Ka-Kazu…”
“Hate you???” Another step forward.
“I-I mean… Kazu…” Another step back.
“Are you asking me if I hate you?” Another one forward.
“I-I just… I…” Another one back.
“Do you want to know if I hate you?” Kame raised his voice, stepping again forward and Jin gasped because his back hit the wall behind him and he realized there is nowhere to run from the younger man’s anger. He stared at Kame with wide eyes, biting his lips, and he literally felt how the boy’s gaze was piercing through him.
“I don’t hate you, you idiot.” Kame said or rather hissed, gritting his teeth and Jin didn’t know if he should feel happy about it or not because Kame’s expression told him the opposite of what he had just said and Jin felt confused.
“You don’t? Th-That’s great…. then… we can still be friends, right?” he stuttered and jumped when Kame cried out loud.
“NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!”
“I… I… I don’t understand.” Jin admitted quietly and Kame snorted, chuckling bitterly and lowering his head.
“Kazu…”
“SHUT UP!!!”
“Kazu…” Jin tried again, stepping away from the wall.
“I SAID SHUT UP, JIN!!!” Kame yelled and pushed the older man back roughly to the wall and in the next moment he threw himself at Jin and kissed him forcefully. Jin was beyond shock when he felt Kame’s lips on his, and the boy’s heated body pressing on his own and he couldn’t react in any way, his mind went blank and he was just blinking when Kame broke the kiss and pulled away with faintly red spots on his cheeks.
The younger man lowered his head, breathing heavily and not daring to look into the other’s eyes.
“Do you understand now, Jin?” Kame whispered weakly.
Jin, still in a daze, raised his hand to touch his lips and kept on blinking, trying to find his voice.
“You… you just kissed me, Kazu?”
Everyone would have rolled his eyes at the intelligent question, but Kame wasn’t surprised at all that Jin could ask something like this so he just sighed wearily. “Yes, Jin. It looks like I did.”
“But… but… Kazu…”
“What is your answer, Jin?” Kame cut him off, looking straight into his eyes. I don’t have anything to lose anymore.
Jin laughed nervously. “Well… you know… I’m really happy you don’t hate me… but it was a weird way to show me that you’re not mad at me anymore.” he stuttered.
Kame stared at him and his lips curved into a smile, but Jin found that smile a bit scary and he became more nervous when Kame burst out laughing hard while producing sounds which were more like sobs than laughter. The boy’s voice died slowly and he wiped his tears away before turning around.
“Forget it, Jin.”
“But… Kazu… are you mad at me after all?” Jin shouted after him but got no response.
♫
“Koki, Koki, wait!!!”
Koki turned around, annoyed and raised one brow at the panting Jin, who stopped him just before he could step out of the jimusho late that evening.
“I wanna go home, Jin. What do you want?”
“Help me, please.”
Koki raised his other eyebrow. “Why should I?”
Jin sighed. “Kame is mad at me.”
Koki snorted. “He’s not the only one.”
Jin played with his fingers. “I know I know… I messed up this time. But… I want us to turn to be the way we were before.”
Koki shook his head in disbelief. “That’s not possible, Jin.”
“Please, Koki! Help me! Please! I’ll do anything you want. Tell me what I can do for you.”
Koki rolled his eyes and scratched his head. “Anything?”
Jin’s eyes lit up and nodded fervently.
Koki smirked at him. “Anything?... Ok, Jin. Let’s see what I can do for you.”
♫
Jin was walking slowly along the corridor, heading back to the dressing room to pack his things and go home. He was deep in thought and he mumbled something like ‘Turkish carpet’ and ‘a brand new one’ and ‘how much money’ as he pushed the door of the dressing room open. He stopped dead in his tracks when he glimpsed a slender figure lying on the couch, sleeping.
“Kazu, what the hell are you doing here at this hour?” he muttered and looked up at the clock on the wall. 11.58. Almost midnight. Jin shook his head and approached the younger man.
Kame mumbled something, seemingly still asleep and Jin smiled sadly as he sat down on the couch next to the boy. Kame looked tired, dark bags under his eyes, slightly pale face and Jin could tell that his sleep was restless as he moved his head to the other side, saying something incoherent.
“What are you dreaming about, Kazu?” Jin asked quietly as he raised a hand to brush a messy lock out of the younger man’s face but what he heard next made his hand stop in the air.
“I love you, Jin” Kame mumbled in his sleep and stirred on the couch, on his face there was a little frown and he heaved a deep sigh, his voice breaking when he continued. “Why don’t you… understand?... I’m in love with you. I love you so much, Jin.”
Jin stared at the boy and held his breath. The room fell silent until a harsh sound cut through the air. The clock struck midnight.
