Jin is a singer and he desperately needs a dancer for his upcoming show. Kame is a dancer and he has some trouble with bad guys. The two meet and hate each other but they have no other choice so they make a deal.
Trust and an apology
Awkward. This is the word that could describe most perfectly the situation between Kame and Jin, when they woke up the next morning in each other’s arms.
Kame opened his eyes first and pulled away a bit to look at the singer’s face. Jin’s face was peaceful and Kame was wondering if he had been feeling any kind of discomfort for having another boy in his arms. But he saw no sign of it on the older man’s face. ‘God, he is so handsome!’ Kame thought and the next moment he froze because Jin was apparently waking up. The single mumbled some incoherent words and frowned but didn’t open his eyes yet. Kame blushed and tried to shift away but Jin only tightened his grip on the boy’s waist and snuggled into his neck, then let out a content sigh. Kame felt his skin burning up where Jin’s warm breath tickled his neck and it just made him more embarrassed. He put his hands on the other’s shoulders and gently pushed him away. Jin stirred and rubbed his eyes, yawning. Then he blinked and looked at Kame, still confused. He sat up and moved away a bit then looked at the boy and cleared his throat.
“Good morning!”
Kame mumbled something under his breath which must have been a ‘good morning’, Jin assumed. The singer continued rubbing his eyes until he felt his vision become clearer then just stared at the younger boy who obviously avoided his gaze. Jin wondered if Kame regretted sleeping with him and hugging him all night, because he had to admit that he didn’t mind at all. But the boy was definitely embarrassed so Jin decided to leave him be for now. He cleared his throat again.
“How are you feeling?”
Kame looked up then lowered his head again. “Better.” He was surprised at hearing his own voice which was pretty hoarse from sleeping. And crying so hard last night obviously didn’t help at all. Kame felt his cheeks flushing at the thought of the things that had happened the day before and he felt ashamed. He jumped out of the bed, mumbled something about having a cold shower and disappeared in the bathroom.
Jin got up and walked downstairs to make breakfast. It was the second time he decided to do it by himself and it felt strange. He has never thought of having breakfast before when he was alone. He had rather missed it. But now he did not mind at all. He kind of wanted to sit down with Kame at that table which seemed so huge when he was alone. His landlady always cooked for him but never kept him company. He chuckled for himself. Things were changing since Kame was around…
“KAME!!! BREAKFAST IS READY!! COME DOWN!” he yelled while he placed the plates on the table.
He waited for a couple of minutes but the boy did not show up. Jin walked upstairs and found Kame in his room, searching frantically through his clothes.
“What are you doing?”
Kame looked up and threw his clothes on the bed, then picked up his bag, turned it upside-down and started shaking it over the bed. “I can’t find them.”
“What?”
“My glasses.”
“Oh…” Jin frowned and tried to remember when he saw them last time. “You didn’t have them in the hospital.”
Kame snapped his head up. “And before? When I… came here?”
Jin shook his head. He was sure Kame was not wearing them back then. He would have remembered. He was staring into the boy’s beautiful eyes very closely after all, when the other was trying to seduce him. Jin cleared his throat. “You may have left at your apartment.”
Kame sighed and sat down on the bed. “I guess so.”
“Why are they so important anyway?”
Kame snorted. “Why are they important??? Because I cannot see without them clearly, Bakanishi.” he snapped at the man.
Jin froze. “What did you just say?” he stepped forward but stopped suddenly when he took a closer look at the boy. Kame has just finished his shower and his hair was sill wet. Water drops were rolling down slowly on his neck, soothing his milky skin and then they disappeared under the collar of the boy’s shirt. The sight was so sensual that it just caught Jin off guard. He gulped loudly and ran his tongue over his lips to wet them.
“Delicious…” he mumbled unconsciously.
“Huh?” Kame looked up, confused.
Jin turned his head away. “I mean… breakfast… will be delicious… so let’s eat. Then… I have to go to work. I have a photo shoot today. When I finish I can take you to your place so you can get your glasses, ok?” he said in one breath.
“Ok…”
Jin nodded then turned around and sprinted out of the room. He ran downstairs while he was wiping the sweat drops off his forehead.
Kame frowned and tilted his head wondering why the singer seemed so embarrassed just now. But then he just shrugged and got up to follow Jin downstairs.

“WOW!! AMAZING!!” Kame yelled excitedly when he spotted the dishes that were practically covered the whole dining table.
Jin smirked and felt kind of proud of himself. His stomach churned a bit at the thought that he managed to impress Kame. But the boy’s next remark froze his smile on his face.
“Your landlady returned?”
Jin rolled his eyes and turned to pick up the two mugs of hot coffee from the counter.
“You know, you should be nicer to me.” he chirped then turned back to the table. “Even if you can’t imagine, I…”
He cut himself off suddenly when he glimpsed the boy. Kame was standing next to table, leaning on it with both hands and was panting. His face was pale and sweaty.
“What’s wrong?” he rushed to Kame’s side. “Aren’t you feeling well?”
Kame breathed heavily but managed to shake his head. “I’m fine. Just… my head… I’m a bit dizzy… let me sit down…”
Jin grabbed his arm with one hand and wrapped the other around his waist. He guided the boy to the chair and gently pushed him down. Then he crouched down to look at the other’s face.
“Are you okay? Do you need something?” he asked and gently rubbed Kame’s arm. The boy shivered a bit from the touch.
“No, I’m okay. Really.”
Jin sighed. “It’s not surprising that you aren’t feeling well. You didn’t eat anything yesterday. Let’s have breakfast. You’ll feel better after that.” he smiled and sat down on the other chair in front of the boy.
Kame nodded and smiled back then started eating slowly. He knew that this feeling has nothing to do with the fact that he didn’t eat anything. His body was still effected by the drugs, or rather the lack of them. He didn’t want to think about what he was about to go through yet, he probably would have a lot of time to heal completely. For a couple of days, or for even a week he was not going to able to work or dance… dance…
“JIN!!!!!”
Jin dropped his chopsticks on the floor. “Wh… What?”
“What about the concert? We… we have to practice. It’s Tuesday, right? I know it’s late… but…” Kame stuttered nervously then jumped up and started circling in the room. “You have to call Koki. I’m going with him to the arena to check everything. Then we’re coming back and start practicing until you’re done with the photo shoot. Yes… yes, we should do it this way.”
Jin closed his mouth which he left open when Kame jumped up from his chair. “Kame, stop!”
The boy didn’t hear him, just kept walking and murmuring for himself.
“KAME!!! Stop it! You make me dizzy!”
Kame looked up. “Huh? Ah… sorry.”
“Sit down and finish eating.”
“But…”
“Sit down.” Jin raised his voice and pretended to be angry. “It’s Wednesday, by the way.” he added matter-of-factly.
“What?” Kame blinked then sat down and started counting the days. “I must have been really out of it if I don’t remember the days.” he mumbled thoughtfully then he glared at the singer. “JIIIIIIN!!! WEDNESDAY???”
“Stop yelling, dear God! You want me to lose my hearing? How would I sing then?”
Kame gulped and looked up at Jin hesitantly. “Did… did you find someone else to fill my place?” he asked quietly.
Jin scratched his head. “No.” he stated.
Kame’s eyes widened. “What? Why???”
“I delayed the concert.”
“Huh??? How.. why???”
Jin placed his mug on the table. “Why? Because one of my dancers is not able to go on stage.”
Kame blinked and continued staring at the older man. “But… why didn’t you ask someone else?”
Jin started to lose his patience. “What do you think? It was not easy to find you. You can’t be replaced by anyone.”
Kame raised an eye-brow and just stared at him questioningly. Jin looked at him in confusion. “What?” he asked but then he choked on his coffee when he realized what he just said. It sounded like he wasn’t talking about dancing anymore. “I mean..” he coughed “You’re a professional and I had been looking for the right person for so long before I met you…” ‘Oops, this didn’t sound any better.’ Jin turned his head away and poured coffee into his mug but ended up spilling it over the table.
“Anyway you just concentrate on getting better and we’re doing the show next week.” he mumbled.
Kame looked down at his plate and took a deep breath. “Jin…”
“What is it?”
“How did you get to know about the pills? How did you know that they were in my pocket?”
Jin sighed. He knew that he couldn’t avoid the topic forever. He was sure Kame would be angry but he didn’t want to lie about it. So he prepared himself for a fight and looked at the boy with a serious expression.
“I called Nakamaru.”
Kame raised his eye-brow.
“I took a look at your contacts in your phone after Ueda told me that the only one who he had ever met among your “co-workers” or whatever was a guy named Nakamaru. So I called him and asked him to meet me a couple of days ago.”
Kame paled. “You… you met him?”
Jin shook his head. “No. I thought about it and realized that I’m too popular so I cannot risk to be recognized.” he smiled widely.
Kame rolled his eyes. “Yeah, whatever… So what did you do then?”
“I got a little help from Pi and Ryo. They agreed to meet Nakamaru and talk to him.”
Kame felt his stomach lurch at the thought. “What did he tell them?”
“Not much.”
Kame let out a deep breath and leaned backwards.
Jin eyed the younger man nervously. “He said that he cannot say anything about it because he doesn’t want to get into trouble.”
Kame nodded approvingly.
“But he agreed to call us if you contact him. So that’s how I get to know about the pills….” Jin licked his lips nervously “Kame… don’t you think it’s time for you to tell me about your so-called work?” he asked in a low tone, carefully.
Kame shook his head immediately. “I can’t…”
“Why?” Jin snapped and the boy shivered hearing the harsh tone.
“Because… I just can’t, Jin.” Kame whispered. ‘I can’t get you involved in this.’ he added in his head.
Jin felt his face burn up in anger. “Why don’t you trust me?” he shouted.
Kame sighed nervously and rubbed his throat which started burning when he heard Jin’s voice. It was angry but somehow it sounded hurt.
“It’s not about trust…” he said quietly and avoided the singer’s piercing gaze.
Jin rubbed his forehead in frustration. “Trust me.”
The man wasn’t shouting anymore, his voice wasn’t angry and demanding. He was asking.
Kame gulped and blinked back his tears. “I do. But give me time… please” he whispered.
Jin bit his lips and nodded. “Ok.”
Kame looked up at the singer and managed a little smile. Then he put his hands on the table and pushed himself up.
“One more thing.” Jin made him stop.
The singer stood up as well. ‘Just blurt it out.’ he encouraged himself. ‘He’s gonna be angry as hell but he will calm down eventually.’
“I… I…” Jin cast his eyes down to the floor. ‘He’s gonna be so angry… But I knew it, I’m prepared… He’s gonna throw things at me and shout but I’m prepared for it…’ “I… I paid your debt.” he blurted out finally and didn’t dare to look up.
‘Ok, that’s it. I said it. Countdown starts… 10…’ he looked around nervously. ‘doors are locked… 9... keys are hidden…he can’t run away… 8…’ he rubbed his fingers together ‘…he’s angry… 7… I’m prepared… 6… just don’t take it to heart, Jin… 5… don’t show him you’re hurt… 4… I’m prepared… 3… he’s gonna shout but I’m prepared… 2… I am… 1… prepared for it…’
“Thank you.”
‘No, that’s definitely something I’m not prepared for’. “Huh?” he snapped his head up.
Kame was standing with a nervous expression on his face but in his eyes there was no sign of anger. “I… I’m not happy that you got involved but I guess I would be dead by now if you hadn’t done it…”he laughed bitterly and Jin’s heart clenched at the sad tone in the boy’s voice.
He cleared his throat. “Ok, so now you owe me one.”
Kame’s expression changed within a second and frowned. “What do you mean?”
Jin let out an evil grin. “I paid your debt so you have to pay me back.”
“Sure… As soon as I have the money…”
“But…” Jin cut him off, and Kame swore that the singer’s smirk became more evil if it was possible. “What if I don’t want money?”
Kame froze and hold the man’s gaze wich was shining with something he hasn’t seen before. “Wh.. what?” he stuttered nervously.
Jin took a step forward and opened his mouth to answer when the loud noise of a ringtone cut through the the air. Jin wiped the grin off his face and turned to look at his watch. “Shit… I’m late…” he panicked and ran upstairs mumbling curses all the way along.
Kame closed his eyes for a moment then lowered himself on the chair as his legs felt weak and he was afraid that he would collapse if he had to stay standing for another second. “What was that just now?”
