So Core was absurdly nihilistic. We segued from "how do we discern the good from the bad?/what, therefore, should we do?" with Salem into McCarthyism into 9/11 and the Patriot Act and Botelho (my <3) told us that PA is trying to pass an act which would strip teachers of their tenure if they were found to be giving personal opinions that were "too ( Read more... )

Gah. Tomorrow night I have to write three ferrington papers again.
Except that I will actually attempt to start those tonight after I write my Bio Lab up... also tomorrow morning and afternoon.
Not just tomorrow night.

At least this time I have actual ideas ahead of time.
When we are OLs, that will rock the freaking world.

You will be such an amazing RA. I bet your bulletin boards will kick ass...I hope you get it!

I don't think anyone explicitly said it, but a lot of people seemed to be of the mentality that "if we can't fix it all what's the point?" Seeing Paul Rusesabagina speak made me feel so small, like what the hell can I do, I can't stop the genocide in Sudan- but we can do other things. We can become the people who do see problems and make an honest effort to fix them. It just frustrated me, that's all.
