Katy wanted a journal, so I started her one. Does anyone know if they close down journals of kids? I am going to be right next to her while she journals and it will all be friends only. Anyone know?
If it were me, I'd only let her make her posts private. That way, no one can stumble across it, and only put very very minimal information in her profile.
I want to be able to read anything from my name that happens on her journal. Also, I have a friend who might want to read what she is up to. See pictures etc. So I think friends should be safe, unless LJ itself can read what is behind friends cut?
She doesn't even know her own password. I will be right here for whatever she writes.
I have to get a new keyboard too, because half of the letters are gone off the keyboard. She doesn't know the keyboard well enough to know what the letters are. I have to type everything.
I think you have to be 13 and over. I agree with the first comment. I personally don't plan to let my kids use LJ until they are older, there is so much crap on here I wouldn't want them to see. Obviously you plan to watch her while she's on here, which is responsible and really great...but for how long? Til she's 16? I guess my kids will discover it one day but for me the later the better. => Besides, they might read mine! =0

She tries to read over my shoulder all the time. I thought this might stop it.

just another way to help make it more private,
also less information is better on the info page
no location or anything that can get her in trouble,
and be careful on the communities in case there are any crazy people searching the net.
I remember trying to keep tabs on my daughter when she first had an email address,
the world is a scary place,
hope things work out ok, and she gets to enjoy things wothout any fear,
take care
