[smudged, shaky writing, that is possibly a little tear stained cause damn these female hormones driving him from anger to sadness]

HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO THIS EVERY MONTH?

[Locked to Fiona]I don't understand tampons. The instructions make no sense. It's like they're written in Chinese or describing how to put together a rocket, except that ( Read more... )

Oh dear.

I promise I'm not trying to be my normal slightly lewd self when I say I might have to show you how to do it. What brand and absorption did you get? Plastic applicator or cardboard?

I'll get you some plastic. They're easier to put in.

This should be... extremely interesting. :)

It's not your fault. It's the Rift's.

...

I wasn't a woman before I came through the Rift.

The Rift made me switch bodies with some woman and now I'm bleeding for no good reason. No one makes me bleed my own blood... unless there was a fight.

...it can effect such changes? I have to reevaluate my entire approach to researching it. I knew-- but never mind that. You'll need cloth strips for pads, and you'll have to boil them clean at the end of the day. Though I suppose you can just use one of the machines for washing clothes. Every four to six hours you'll have to change them, depending on how

well, how heavy the blood flow is.

Tea will help with the cramps (chamomile or raspberry works best for me), St. John's Wort for the emotional imbalance.

I'm guessing either you're not used to having a uterus, or that you've never had a period before. Either way, you have my sympathy.

If you're having bad cramps, obviously Motrin, Aleve or just ibuprofen will help. So does exercise, baths, heat or ice packs - you should try both and see which works for you-, and if all of those don't work and you really need some serious painkillers... I'm a doctor, and I work in the basement of the Conrad Hotel. I can get you some of the more heavy duty stuff if absolutely necessary. And if you're not looking to do this every month after this, you might want to look into birth control.

At the moment, it's trying to work a tampon that has me wanting to strangle this uterus.

BIRTH CONTROL? never did I ever think that I would have to

.....thank you. I'll keep all that in mind.

You're welcome. Good luck with the tampon.

If you need a doctor to prescribe the birth control, just talk to me, or I can refer you to some wanderer-friendly hospitals. And I'm sorry for the Rift being the Rift. Not that I had anything to do with it, it just seems like someone should apologize.

I'll stop by this week. I haven't seen the hotel in this universe yet.

And hey, no one apologized the second time around yet and even if it doesn't make a difference... thanks.

You have my deepest sympathies, Darling.

There's always pads. Not as clean, but also not as painful for a beginner.

Also, tea. Tea is very helpful. As are heating pads.

Semi-related: I have a line of blood-resistant fabrics, if you're interested.

((GAH. I need to not try to play when sleep-deprived. Scratch that line, then. Or just delete the whole thing. I fail at Rifting lately.))
