So what this tutorial tells me is that...muted coloring is my ultimate antithesis. No wonder I always have so much trouble with this sort of style! I do play with other layer modes aside from soft light and screen, Jess. I swear!

At any rate, thank you for writing another splendid guide for me, Jess! I shall begin to put it to use immediately with, fingers crossed, halfway decent results. As always, you are a genius, and we are so lucky that you're happy to share all these clever secrets with us! :D

this is an incredibly useful guide, jess! i do have issues with muted icons sometimes, and reading through your guide made me discover many new things (especially that b&w layers/gradients are not necessary for muted colorings, i bow to you for that). c:
