One memory for the afterlife/Slap 'em with a trout!

(Some more notes while the crablette is sleeping for the moment...)

If you could only carry one memory with you into the afterlife, which would you choose?

That would require entering an afterlife in the usual sense of the word, wouldn't it? Which is something that isn't possible for me.

If you rephrase it as, "If you could only have one memory for the rest of eternity…" - I hope that will never happen. I shudder to think what it would be like, having to live while having lost almost all of my memories. It would be like Waspinator's mental state - not even being able to remember people's names, what to speak of remembering much of his past - only worse. Don't sign me up for that. I'd hate to lose all the knowledge I've gained through millions of years of experience.

But if I had to chose one single memory, which would be the memory I'd most want to keep? Perhaps…

Me and Skyfire on a planet that had no name, only a number in the star charts. A purplish sky above us, and plains filled with crystalline lifeforms. Some looked like high trees of coral with filigree branches. The wind rushing through them made a haunting, flute-like sound. I was excited, talking about harvesting the crystals, about the chemicals and all the energy that could possibly be derived from them. Skyf told me to shut up and just listen.

That day, I actually did.

Hnh. No, not that one. I don't want to remember the weak, inexperienced person I was then. I'd rather remember my coronation, minus the part when Galvatron showed up. I always wished there'd been a mirror in the Hall of Heroes - I must've looked dashing, standing proud and tall, my cape flowing behind me and my optics bright to rival the rubies on my crown. It was the pinnacle of my life.

…but even then, something was missing. Megatron. I always wished he could see me the day I'd prove what I'm really worth. That he'd acknowledge me. Perhaps even admire me the way I'd once admired him. But that was not to be. Because for me to show what I could be - he had to die.

If you could meet any famous personality, living or dead, and smack them in the head with a large trout, who would it be?

Only someone who's not a Decepticon would think of such a silly question.

It would be stupid to slap someone with a trout, rather than attack him with a real weapon. What would you achieve by that? Get laughed at? Get attacked with something that does actual damage? Either way, it would be bad.

Doing that to someone would be a way of saying you consider him completely beneath your notice, that you don't think he could punish you for that.

I have to admit I never considered Megatron trout-slappable. There, I said it. Whatever can be said about him, only a fool would've attacked him with something that isn't a mighty weapon.

I'd give Optimus Prime the trout slap, just to prove that I could mar the precious Autobot dignity of his and live to tell the tale. Not even Skywarp ever dared to do such a thing, and he could teleport away.

Or if I could really slap anyone… Unicron. If you can trout-slap a dark god and live, you're the ultimate bad-fin.

[Devi: "bad-fin" means roughly the same as "badass" (fin is short for "tailfin" in this context)]

Questions asked by slashseeker:

1. What's it like to possess someone?

It's power. You can feel the other spark underneath, the other mind in that body, struggling and screaming without a voice, struggling to speak, to be able to move his own limbs again. But you are stronger.

2. If your body had not been destroyed by Galvatron, how would you have handled the attack of Unicron?

*ponders that for a moment - it's not an easy question* I would've let citycommander or giri_guy (whoever would've had the Matrix at the time) handle it. If possible, I would've fled with my Decepticons and stayed away until the attack was over. Why not let the Autobots do all the dying? That's what I would've done if I'd known then what I know now.

Back then? I would've fought with all I had to defend my home planet, my domain. And I would've been afraid.

3. Who is the Autobot you can most tolerate?

I can't abide Autobots on principle.

If I had to be in the company of one Autobot - I'd choose one I could hold an intelligent conversation with. Prowl, perhaps (while he was alive), or Ultra Magnus.

Skyfire would've been the obvious choice if he hadn't chosen to be an Autobot.

4. Have you ever pulled a Wheeljack? (have one of your experiments blow up in your face)

You think I wouldn't do better than this Autobot? Please! *insulted look*

5. If your only chance of survival rested in the hands of Ratchet, would you let him fix you?

"Survival" is without question for me, for obvious reasons. *smirks* Would I let Ratchet fix me to avoid unpleasant loss of yet another body? Yes, I would; and I'd take horrible revenge if he'd try anything funny.

The Dragon. Powerful, Majestic, Regal. You rarely do things by halves and hate compromise. Those who you trust you give your all for. [That would require me trusting someone in the first place... *disdainful smirk*] Weak is something that you are not.
