The "karupukan" year
I admit that 2020 is the year I finally splurged on my fandoms' merchandise/releases, particularly Taylor Swift and Arashi. And in return, they are both been generous in giving back-to-back updates that makes each fandom go nuts, especially their savings, and that includes me 💸💸
I promised myself that I am gonna collect Tay's discography when I get a job, so that I can spend on merch from my own money. I still got a long way to go, especially from her past releases. On CDs, I am only missing her self-titled debut and the Fearless Platinum. Fearless era will always be memorable and magical to me since it's the era I became a Swiftie.
reputation and Lover merch really stood out for me though, since it's not just the standard CD and rep has magazines but sadly, no deluxe edition; while Lover has journal versions with voice memos part of the deluxe version. As for folklore, as much as I wanted to collect all 8 (actually 6 because 2 of them has Target editions, therefore still available in the long run), I can only have 2 of the limited edition release. It's so sudden so my wallet isn't prepared lol. And with the recent evermore release, I am thankful it only has one deluxe edition. 😪😂
For four years that I've been an Arashi fan, it's only this year that I officially invested on their release. Frankly, I have cried many times whenever I see they have merch releases and for not having the money to buy them when I was in college. Since their merch can range to many things from CDs and tour merch, I decided I will start on their CD/DVD release first. (I am still looking for AYH LE and Fukkatsu Love since it's the album/single that came out the year I became a fan, but it's been sold-out already 😢)
What I have now are their latest album This is Arashi, 5x20 RE DVD and 5x20 All the Best Clips LE (thanks YesAsia). I am still waiting for 5x20 LE 1 that I ordered months before the first three mentioned and I am really wondering what's thanking it so long (ordered it from a merch shop in my country) I should have ordered in overseas merch sites if it wouldn't have been sold out or sold at a much higher price. Also waiting for Arafes and This is Arashi merch.
I am still wildly fascinated and elated that what I wrote in their Hello New Dream Project / ANATA for Dream "I wish to see Arashi's concert" became true thanks to the online livestream of Arafes 2020 and for the upcming This is Arashi Live. They really want to express all their love and gratitude to fans and having two online concert before the hiatus. Hadn't been because of the pandemic, they overseas tour would also be sure to become a massive hit.
