WAY TO THE GLORY

Apr 17, 2021 12:12

Well I figured I kinda have to write this one since I got into a new rabbit hole and I am falling in way too deep, never thought that I am exploring something new again.

I am already a janizu wota since 2016, but now I am on my way to get to know Exile Tribe/LDH as a whole. It may seem that both agencies are rivals when it comes to producing idols, but being a fan now of LDH also offered me various content not limited to idol group activities focusing solely on one particular group, because they have collaboration projects like that of HIGH & LOW, and the recent one that is Battle of Tokyo. And of course, the accessibility to their music and the way fans can connect to the artists more through sns and individual members' IG/Twitter/Weibo/CL accounts.
And though I am still updated on the respective activities of the groups I follow in Johnny's, I admit I am taking 'a break' from them and now shifting my focus on another deep hole that I can't get enough of.

Coming across a random Youtube video recommendation of The Rampage's SILVER RAIN music video was the doorway that brought me here now. I was impressed by the video given how packed it is, from the dance choreography, the melody of the song, the vocals, and the visuals/cinematography for a music video. And I am surprised how 16 people can be so in sync and fit together perfectly. At first, I only thought that I will be just randomly bopping to the song and if I find other songs of the same artist interesting, since at that time I don't think of 'supporting' a whole new group (from another agency, too) that I have to go to square one. But alas, since I streamed the MV for a week plus other recommended songs like My Prayer, Fears, Invisible Love and the like.. I figured that it wouldn't be bad to get to know the 16 members of The Rampage, and it's my first time to do that I will become a fan of a group that has members more than ten.

Figuring the concept of the group that has vocalists and the rest as performers, I think it made it easy for me to to figure out who's who in the members, having RIKU catching my interest first since I kinda resemble his voice like Miyano Mamoru-san. Hokuto and Kazuma also can provide range when it comes to their vocal abilities, Hoku-chan in his second/backing vocals while Kazuma in his raps.
And instead of just googling the names of the members that have their pictures on it, I went to learn it the hard way by looking at the time stamps provided by fans under the comments on the Youtube videos that I thought Kaisei was Zin and mistook the former as the leader 🤣
And I believe it's also fate that SILVER RAIN was a promotional single for their coming album REBOOT that was released in February, so I have the benefits to see their promotions, most especially live performance of the said song in music shows, that I can get to see how they perform live and on stage.
Though I am lucky to be able to memorize their names in a week, I still have a long way to go in figuring their other activities as a group and as individual members. Also, MA55IVE as the sub-unit caught my heart since they are also rappers and my fave or oshi in the group Kamiya Kenta-san is also part of it. The Rampage's songs also provided me other bops that are not in my usual music taste such as hip-hop and RNB. Their sns accounts, most especially their Tiktok also gives a glimpse of the funny and weird side of the members, most especially Shohei-san who updates videos almost everyday, ranging from dance to amusing antics 😂

And being a janizu wota that entails struggle in finding content, it's a breath of fresh air that I can instantly listen/watch music videos on Youtube from The Rampage. Though for their variety shows, it still goes same way as every Japanese entertainment shows that I am now in the process of joining communities relating to Exile/LDH and I have to admit it's also hard to navigate around since my mutuals on Twitter are mostly Arashians and/or are janizu wota, so I made another alternate account to look for Exile Tribe mutuals.

I thought I will only end up with The Rampage. I mean one group (that has 16 members!) should already be enough, right? But nope, my inner fan girl self still decided to follow another one.
I am already familiar with two of its members as I have watched them from movies (particularly shoujo adapted LA); Shirahama Alan in Daytime Shooting Star and Katayose Ryota in Anikoma and as a student in 3-nen A-gumi, I also want to know the other members and listen to their songs. It also warms my heart whenever Alan mentions his Filipino roots and family, like enjoying Jollibee (a fast-food chain) and using Safeguard (a body soap) 😂😂
I also started watching Prince of Legend because of Ryota, and RMPG's members Kazuma, Hokuto, Makoto and Itsuki is in it too, while GENE members Reo, Mandy and Alan is here also (though I have yet to watch the new one that Alan stars in). Prince of Legend's plot is over-the-top for me, a reverse harem through and through, but I endured it just to watch for the RMPG x GENE members in it, plus a bonus that Keita Machida is also part of the cast.

The group has only 7 members with 2 vocalists, so it's easier to figure out their names. I also can't get enough of Ryota x Ryuto's voices, even more with their solo songs it really gave me an awesome impression to their vocal prowess.
Like RMPG, I am also in the way of following their group activities like watching GENE TV, where I get to see the other strengths of the members like seeing Hayato often as MC, plus funny antics on their Tiktok thanks to Yuta (that it seemed to me he's the admin of the account, like Shohei is in with RMPG lol)
Reo and Yuta's dance videos are also a must watch, I am already drawn by their dance performance, like their personalities are being carved as they show their style through dancing.

Two isn't enough therefore I added BBZ in the list. They're a new group in Exile Tribe and also interesting by the fact that all 7 members sing and perform, divided into vocal and rapper units that I think it's amazing since it's a first for an Exile Tribe group. I am excited for their part in the Battle of Tokyo verse, and for their coming activities as well.
Though it's sad that while they visited SEA countries, Philippines wasn't part of it ಥ_ಥ

I don't think I have an oshi yet in the group as I see them as my younger brothers and I thought Ryusei was the youngest, when in fact it's Masa 🙈😅
Some media outlets may throw shade to this group and comparing them to already successful artists, but I believe BBZ has 1000% to conquer their own paths.

While these three groups may serve as my 'main', I do listen and would want to explore the other groups as well like 3JSB, FNT, and EXILE; Doberman Infinity, DEEP SQUAD, etc. Hopefully I get to finish H&L verse real soon so I can catch up with more amazing content like BoT.
I love the fact that LDH collaborates on a lot of projects with its artists, and members are not limited to their activities within their group but may also venture with other various related projects from movies, plays, and live events.
I would love to connect and meet other fans, so in case, I am leaving my alternate Twitter account username which is @aireiiru (╯▽╰ )
Thank you for reading.
