Sometimes I wonder if I was put here because of what I've done. Sure, that's what I've been told, I'm here for sins committed. But really, there has to be more to it than that. There should be at any rate. I've seen things, expereinced things that seem... unbelievable. I wouldn't wish them on anyone but those who committed them. It only brings me ( Read more... )

Mostly. When you vanished, I... I was so lonely without you.

But now I'm not alone any more. And we can make sure those in charge never destroy what we've constructed here.

I'm sorry I left you. I didn't... I wouldn't... I'm back and I suppose that is all that matters.

Right. Sounds like you hung on to a few of my ideas even while I wasn't around. I'm proud.

I am afraid I will need to call you Mr Jack since that's all I've heard you called.

I wasn't aware we were at war so that a 'truce' needed to be called. You think too highly of yourself if you consider what you had done more than minor annoyances at the absolute best. Have your truce if you like. If it pleases you to think yourself as important as that, feel free to do so.

It doesn't matter to me.

You may think I don't matter, I'm no one. Think it all you want. I know how to organize people and should I feel it necessary, you would think of me as more than an annoyance. I can't be a threat. But let's not test that as of now.

Oh, and it appears I'm no the only one who thinks too highly of himself, Mr. President.

I have been here, working for the city.

And you?

What do you do besides squeal like a cat with its tail trod on? Do you try to protect the people? Do you attempt to ensure that homes are heated this winter? Do you help organize people into doing something so that they aren't sitting around bored and irritable?

Organize. For what? To paint your little signs? Cry in a group? Grow up and do something productive. Stop attempting to think you speak for the other citizens when none of them support you or your foolish delusions.

Wow. You are seriously wound up, you know that? All high and mighty president, you have no idea who I am or what I am capable of. I'm not threatening you nor making any plan to. I am only pointing out that you are jumping to conclusions. You don't know what I've seen a government do, what I've been exposed to. If you were me, you'd feel quite the same I'd guess. But we're two very different people from two wholly different worlds. Want to just leave it at that for now or should we yell and argue and belittle each other more?

I was told no one was in charge. Are you saying this Shinra is?

...

I think I've spoken to him.

It seems that way at times. He sure does think a good deal of himself and what he and his company can and will do.

I think it's very much a problem to have people who are enforcing peace without some kind of code of behavior or impartial judges. This can too easily lead to tyranny of the 'strong' over the 'weak.'

I do not know this Shinra very well--we only spoke on this thing--but why is he so terrible?
