Email to MSNBC

I am sick of this. I am sick of the national media focusing whole-heartedly on New Orleans alone. Yes, it was terrible what happened there, but Katrina affected Mississippi as well. I, yokuso, hersisterbek, and others I know are sick and tired of Mississippi being treated as the embarrassing cousin that nobody likes to talk about. So, I sent an email to msnbc.com. I agree. The media will do anything to not talk about Mississippi

i agree, but I also have to say, the local channels have a bunch of people in biloxi who have been covering everything from a church that is no longer there to a seal that was misplaced and eventually died. They've shown aerial views of devastation and talked with people and I rather like the governor or whomever it is.

Think of it this way. You know in school how there is always a goody two shoes and a bad kid. The bad kid gets tons more attention than the good one simply because they're always doing bad things. The bad kid hits the good kid and the good kid gets a pat on the head and a bandaid and the bad kid gets grappled and yelled at and calls to his parents and sent to the office.

do you see what i mean?

If your state had as much drama, it would get loads of attention...but you're all acting rather decently.. so all the attention is being put on the drama queens. Just take it as a compliment. Besides.. how many more times do you want Bush to visit you? LOL

I don't think that the Coast is being ignored because the news doesn't want to talk about Mississippi. I think the news focus is on New Orleans because there's more going wrong in New Orleans. The coast was smashed and lots of people died and it's horrible, but they're picking up and fixing and moving on, and they're going to make things right again. New Orleans, on the other hand, is in a much more precarious condition. For one thing, the worst of their damage was post-storm, when the flooding began and peaked. So there was still news in the process of happening for much longer than in coastal Mississippi, where the storm went through, destroyed a whole lot, and went about its business whomping us for a bit. And after the flooding, New Orleans continued to be one news story after another as all the junkies and gangs started to destroy things even more.

God, are there still Mississippians alive?

I prayed for the entire state to have been annihilated.

Pogue mahone, pendajé.

Didn't anyone ever tell you its RUDE and EXTREMELY CHILDISH to leave anonymous messages in people's journals? What are you afraid of? That someone will know what a JERK you are?

May you be inflicted with the pain of 1000 paper cuts... on your face. Or you could just go play in traffic.

ASS.
