Another Southern Sunday

We like to grill on over a mesquite fire on Sunday afternoons.  We've got some 2 inch thick ribeye steaks in the fridge for just that purpose.  It's a nice way to wring that last little bit of pleasure out of the weekend.  Steaks on the grill and beer in the cooler.

Mike is having Guiness but me and Bob are drinking Bud Lime these days.  It's one of the leftovers from when Jeff came to see us a few Sundays ago.  Bob & I liked the Bud lime so much, we've been drinking that ever since.  He came home from work on Friday and said to me with a grin, "I brought some Bud Lime."  Yay!

Come to think of it, we've had steak ever weekend since Jeff's visit too.  The man changes you, when you've been in his presence.  It's true.  We now have a Costco membership because of him.  The steaks he brought were so gorgeous, and grilled up so beautifully, Mike got spoiled and basically declared that he never wanted another steak unless it could match the ones Jeff brought.

Now, as I understand it, Jeff got his at Sam's - but, as y'all know, we don't cotton to Walmart or any of its offshoots - so we went to Costco instead.  In search of steaks.  Whether or not we got a membership was riding on their selection of ribeye steaks.  If we liked 'em and they could hold their own next to the ones Jeff brought, we were joining.  Not only did they have good-looking steaks, but a whole seafood/meats section that was impressive so we picked out our ribeyes and signed up for a membership on the spot.  Plus, they sell Guiness at an incredibly low, low price.  We were sold and have been back each Saturday to pick up Guiness and steaks.

We had steak last Sunday and we're having steak again today.  Our Sunday with Jeff was nothing short of a life changing experience, I tell you.  We haven't stopped talking about those steaks or seeking to relive the experience.

One of the kids, I think it was Daniel, once referred to Jeff as The People's Chuck Norris.  The man is everywhere, knows everyone, and leaves you forever altered whenever you've been in the company of his infectuous grin and cheeky sense of humor.

Jeff Wright's smile once brought a puppy back to life.

Jeff Wright's smile can blind a full-grown adult at twenty paces and has been known to deflect all projectile weapons, including rocket launchers.

The North Texas Irish Festival is this coming weekend!  Woo-hoo!  Hopefully the weather will cooperate and it will be nice. It's notorius for raining at the Irish Festival.  I'm looking forward to hearing Seven Nations play and some of the other Celtic rock bands.  And having some tasty Irish stew in a bread bowl. And of course, the pints and pints of Guiness. And having friends and family to share it with.  It's always a blast.  Time to get your Irish on.

It's a pretty Sunday this first Sunday in March.  Coming up on mudbug season mighty quick.  We're thinking we need to come to Moffet and boil up about 40 lbs. of crawfish, potatoes and corn sometime in the next couple of weekends.  Doesn't that sound like fun?  I wonder if Rusty and Ashley could make room for an outdoor boilin' at their place, hmmm??

Ahhh Spring is comin' on. Let's have fun with it!! Happy Sunday!
