are THE BEST, bar NONE!
Thank you so much for the comments/encouragement/love for and about Cayla. I can't even tell you how much it means to me, so let me give you and update on her.
AWESOME, simply awesome.
She came downstairs Saturday morning with a smile on her face, and a positive outlook, and a new dating app called "Tinder" downloaded on her phone. You fill out your profile, provide a pic or two and some info about yourself, set your parameters on who you're looking for (age range, attributes, etc), then the app gives you a bunch of profiles to scroll through. You find one that's interesting, you like it. You don't like? You scroll on by. They like yours then you two can start texting one another. Whether you actually meet is totally up to you. She's after me to give it a try now. LOL.
By late Saturday morning, she had found an old friend/boyfriend on there (Keith from 8th/9th grade) and they're having dinner tonite. He's home for the summer from West Point Academy. I always liked this kid cuz he was polite, adorable, well groomed and an Eagle Scout. I just think he wasn't quite "edgy" enough for my girl, at the time. But they've stayed friendly all this time, and now he's single again, (and still quirky, as Cayla says), so they're having dinner as friends tonite, and she's really looking forward to it.
Tomorrow night she has an honest-to-goodness FIRST DATE with a guy named Jonathon, who's a chef in the kitchen at RI Hospital. He's 26, and they've been texting since she liked his profile on Tinder, and she's quite intrigued with him. She's showed me some of his pics, he's very handsome, got a ginger beard (never a bad thing!), and the most important part is that he's got ambition and purpose and his life. And a working vehicle. And he loves dogs. And so far, they seem to be hitting it off quite well. He had suggested that maybe they could "hang out" at some point, and she came back with "You know what? We can always hang out later, I'd really like to be taken to dinner!" And he agreed in no time flat! LOL.
She's not looking for anything long term or permanent, she'd just like to have some fun again, something that's been sadly lacking in her life lately.
Tuesday-smoooooooooooshes for EVERYONE!! :-)
