Well Pip...the news ain't encouraging. His heart condition has deteriorated to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), with an enlarged left atrium chamber, and decreased contractility. He's been prescribed 4 additional (human) heart meds in addition to the two he already takes. With this treatment, the average survival for dogs with DCM and arrhythmias (which he also has) is only about a year. Could be a bit more, could be a bit less. He's still at risk for developing sudden, fatal arrhythmias also, if he gets too excited or Oscar tempts him into racing around the living room.

Soo...I'm just gonna take as best care of him as possible, and maybe spoil him a little bit more while I still have him.

I appreciate the mojo, tho...Thank you. *smooooooooooooooosh*

Oh, Erin, I'm sorry to hear this. I know you'll take the most excellent care of him, and that he'll be a well-loved puppy for the rest of his days. I hope they are many. ♥
