I always knew that I would become a summoner so that I could save Spira’s people from Sin. Everyone I knew had either lost someone to Sin or knew someone that had. The destruction Sin wreaked affected people around me, and I knew that it would be the same throughout Spira. It seemed like everyone had been hurt by Sin, I didn’t want even more people to suffer.
Since I began my pilgrimage, I’ve met new people every day. People who I’ve never met and will never meet again have come to me and told me about how they have suffered because of Sin. And it brings it home that I’m not fighting Sin for my family and friends. I’m fighting Sin for people I’ve never met,
for complete strangers.
It may sound strange to some people, accepting the burdens of becoming a summoner just to help strangers who I will never meet. But there are so many people in the world, that if I only did things to help the people I know most people would not have relief from their suffering. And what’s the point in that?
