I'm sorry that I haven't commented before. Shame on me! And I love this quiet piece. In my eyes it depicts both of them very well. Non wordy Kensei and hopeful/encouraging/insecure Shuuhei.

What strikes me most is that you present two very realistic reasons how and why people say those words to each other very well. In intimate moments it is an expression of passion and shared closeness; whereas before leaving tells of insecurity and expresses the desperation to hear it said back.

I loved reading Kensei's thought process and his somewhat painful admission that a not so patient person would have already left him. (my poor little heart did a painful lurch then)

Beautiful piece. So quiet and still so powerful. :)
