Why do people feel the need to keep informing me that the Red Sox lost?

Witness the conversation I had at the vet's office this morning.

Guy at the Vet's office: (pointing to the Sox pin that ironically em_meredith  gave me) You're a Sox fan?

Me: (warily) Yes.

GatVo: You know they lost last night.

Me: Yeah, I...saw that.

GatVo: You're still wearing the pin.

Clearly your allegiance should END because of their status. CLEARLY. I mean, what were you thinking, to still LIKE them?

He's FINE. He's BARELY sick. $150 later, and he's got a MINOR UTI. I'm making him get a paper route to pay for it.

No less than four people have let me know that the Sox lost last night. I am not grouchy about the loss, suprsingly (you cannot leave 84,000 men on base and expect to win), but yo, it was the ALCS, it was on my frakking TV. I saw it, okay?

Yeah, people are dumb. I had approximately fourteen-thousand people stop by to commiserate, which was only slightly less annoying as they were, "So... ah.... are you okay?" Dude. WTF?

Today I am pissed off as people have decided to harass me "it's always a good year when money doesn't win the World Series."
