Things that are awesome: this, this, and this. You guys, I haven't been on Tumblr since September 10th. Do I miss it? FUCK NO. idk, i feel like people on lj would get so butthurt if people were posting graphics like 500 times a day. on tumblr, it's expected, but here it's weird. it's like, "hey, i made this and it's serving you no purpose other than to just be on your flist." whereas on tumblr, it's like, "i made this, let's spread it around so that other people can appreciate it and talk about what it represents."

I DON'T KNOW. i honestly don't get why we can't have both?

No, no, I agree! Like if someone kept posting the same goddamn caps over and over again here I'd be pissed off. WE NEED TO FIND A BALANCE. I suppose it's possible to have both but lots of LJ people have migrated to Tumblr (moi included) AND I MISS THEM and want them back.

Yes, but all of those images could be consolidated into an actual post so we could talk about them! I never see people talking to each other about graphics on tumblr, that's why it's so awful to me. The format doesn't enable it, because text posts have to be copied and recopied if you want to string together a conversation, and that looks horrendous and DOES truly spam other peoples dashboards.

That's what I was saying all along!

I have since joined up, but I've only posted a couple original things over there but also posted them over here at the same time.

While I've enjoyed the pretty stuff over there, the only reason I went over there in the first place is because people had stopped posting that kind of stuff here and I was FORCED to! Haha.

I was saying to both slybrunette and gigglemonster recently that all of my reservations in that past couple months since using the site were confirmed. It's just one big pile of stuff and no actual conversation or "community" and it's frustrating for me -- as someone who loves the social aspect of fandom. Plus, all of the spoilers! AH! Makes me crazy!

I'm actually intrigued as to what suddenly started the backlash, but I guess I'll have to go read those posts you linked to.
