Summary: Where Zhou Mi and Kyuhyun are both being stupid
When Osmium and Iridium Collide
Zhou Mi stirred in his sleep. Normally, he was a deep sleeper. That was until Kyuhyun started sneaking into his room every time the other members have gone to sleep. It’s not that he minded. He liked having Kyuhyun beside him when he slept. It meant free cuddles without worry about the grossed out comments of the other members. It also meant more kisses. Still, Kyuhyun slept like he constantly had bugs on his back. He moved and moved and moved the entire night. He had eventually gotten used to it, but sometimes he just wanted to sleep without having to move every second.
“Kyuhyun,” he nudged him with his knee. Kyuhyun merely groaned and threw an arm on Zhou Mi’s neck. “You’re strangling me.”
“So what,” was Kyuhyun’s muffled reply.
“You would kill me in our sleep?” Zhou Mi asked, scandalized.
“I’d follow shortly after,” Kyuhyun mumbled. “Can we get back to sleep now?”
Instead of following Kyuhyun’s demand disguised as a question, Zhou Mi propped an elbow up and leaned his head on his hand. This caused Kyuhyun’s arm to slide down.
“Really? You would kill yourself if I die first?” Zhou Mi gushed, very much awake already. “That’s soooo sweet!”
“More like morbid,” Kyuhyun grumbled, finally opening his eyes to look at his brightly smiling boyfriend. “Are we going to keep talking about this?”
“No more talking,” Zhou Mi agreed. He then leaned forward and kissed him.
Kyuhyun accepted the kiss, on his back, with Zhou Mi’s head hovering over him. It was just starting to get good-or just starting, in Zhou Mi’s opinion, when Kyuhyun suddenly pulled away.
“What’s wrong?” Zhou Mi asked, confused.
Kyuhyun sat up and got off the bed. “Uh, I have to go,” he excused himself, looking around lamely. When he realized that there was nothing to look for, he hastily muttered, “I have a schedule.”
“It’s 5 in the morning,” Zhou Mi pointed out.
“I have a schedule,” Kyuhyun merely repeated, zooming out of the room.
Zhou Mi pouted after him.
---
Later that morning, Zhou Mi found Kyuhyun in his room, seemingly grabbing everything that was in sight.
“I thought you had a schedule,” Zhou Mi announced his entrance to the room, his hand on the doorknob.
Kyuhyun stiffened in surprise and dropped one of his game consoles that he had gotten from his desk. He immediately bent down to pick it up and stuffed it into one of the bags on his bed. He then grabbed some more random things and just kept on stuffing it into the bigger bag.
“Okay, what’s going on?” Zhou Mi demanded, gesturing towards his packing.
“Nothing,” Kyuhyun’s reply was immediate.
Zhou Mi’s brows furrowed. He was almost to the point of bursting out. It hadn’t been just the previous night that Kyuhyun had rejected his advances. It had been going on for the past couple of days. Every time he tried to kiss him, he would always move away. Guiltily, even. He couldn’t understand it.
Kyuhyun clumsily packed some more personal stuff into the man-purse, the other bag on the bed, that Zhou Mi had bought for him on his birthday. He cringed, knowing that Zhou Mi was watching his every move, but tried his best to ignore his watchful eyes.
“You’re keeping something from me,” Zhou Mi accused him.
“What-why would you-I am not,” Kyuhyun sputtered, turning around to face him.
Zhou Mi’s eyes narrowed. “Have you found some new friend to kiss?”
Kyuhyun coughed rather violently, still ignoring his gaze. “I have to go,” he then murmured, hastily picking up his bags, and whooshed out of the room.
“You’re going to end up not seeing the point-or anything for that matter-if you narrow your eyes any further,” Sungmin’s voice came through the doorway.
Zhou Mi’s eyes went back to their normal size and he frowned. “Is he getting tired of me, Sungmin?”
“Stop whining, Seasoning,” Heechul, who happened to be walking by, barked. “Or I’ll chop your nose off.”
Sungmin giggled. He sighed, almost sympathetically as Zhou Mi frowned even more. “You’re over thinking this,” he then promised him.
---
Zhou Mi blatantly ignored Sungmin’s indirect advice and continued thinking about Kyuhyun and the possible cheating tendencies that the boy had. It’s not that he didn’t trust Kyuhyun. He really did because Kyuhyun was never really the type to be into women and wasn’t the type to flirt with other men. Plus, he never really gave him a reason to doubt him. Kyuhyun lived a simple life, after all. The only important things in his life were work, gaming and sleep. Oh, and himself, as well, Zhou Mi noted to add. At least that’s what he’d hoped.
Even so, Kyuhyun had been acting a bit dodgy for the past two weeks. After a schedule two weeks ago, Kyuhyun had given him a call, telling him that he was going back to the dorms after having a short meeting with their manager at the company. Excited as he was, he had prepared a feast for the younger male, knowing that he would be demanding food when he got home. He even prepared a bath for him because he knew how he liked to relax after eating. To top those off, he even cleaned and prepared all his laptop and other gaming devices for him because that’s what he did after such relaxation. He, himself, took a bath after doing all of those because he knew they had things to do before they would go to bed. But when Kyuhyun got home, he went straight to his room and locked it. He didn’t even glance so much at the food, ignored the bath and neglected all his gaming devices. He didn’t even say hi to him.
And so Zhou Mi was hurt. But Kyuhyun had mood swings so he decided to ignore it.
But then it continued to happen everyday after that. Kyuhyun continued to avoid him and anything that he did for him. So he started to suspect that maybe there was someone else.
Kyuhyun had been coming home later and later with each day that passed. He didn’t know what to think of it anymore. It was driving him crazy.
“Stop,” Henry demanded when he entered the kitchen to get a glass of orange juice and saw Zhou Mi sitting on one of the chairs by the counter.
The older male blinked. “I wasn’t doing anything,” he defended himself, stilling his movements.
“Oh yes you were,” Henry insisted, making a face. “I can practically hear you thinking. And that pout is annoying! Stop it. Kyuhyun isn’t doing what you think he’s doing.”
“Well, what is he doing?” Zhou Mi questioned. “And why won’t anyone tell me?”
“Because,” came Henry’s lame retort. The youngest member immediately exited the kitchen after that.
Zhou Mi continued to pout.
---
After two days of continuously nagging Kyuhyun, both for answers and affection, and getting nothing, Zhou Mi resorted to the only thing he could think of: becoming a ninja. Or at least trying to be.
He knelt down in front of the sofa in the living room, peeking at Kyuhyun, who was in the kitchen with Ryeowook, from its corner. His mission was to get in the room that Kyuhyun shared with Sungmin without being seen. He was a ninja. He shouldn’t be seen.
There was a tap on his shoulder. He looked up and saw Donghae peering down at him with much interest. Before Donghae could open his mouth to ask what the hell he was doing, Zhou Mi grabbed his wrist and pulled him down to the floor with him.
“You like playing childish games, don’t you?” Zhou Mi then asked Donghae without going around the bush.
Donghae, looking mildly offended, nodded. “What are we playing?”
“We’re going to be ninjas for the day,” Zhou Mi seriously told him.
Donghae’s eyes lit like a child’s at the word ninjas. He then looked the older male up and down. “Is that why you’re wearing a tight, black bodysuit?” He merely grinned when Zhou Mi glared at him. “Where’s my suit?”
“You can have yours once this mission becomes successful,” Zhou Mi assured him, eyes wide and innocent. “Think of this as a challenge, something to prove that you have what it takes to be a ninja.”
“Oooh,” Donghae exclaimed in awe, his eyes shining with excitement. “Okay, okay. So what do we do?”
“We have to get into Kyuhyun and Sungmin’s room without being seen,” Zhou Mi told him urgently. Donghae stared at him. “What?” he then asked, frowning.
“That’s it?” Donghae complained. “What kind of mission is that?”
“The ninja council does not like being questioned about their missions,” Zhou Mi flatly retorted, looking away. But his cheeks were tinted pink. “And no one says no to the ninja council. There will be consequences.”
“Wait,” Donghae immediately said, his eyes widening with fear. “I’ll do it. Let’s go.”
Donghae lay flat on his chest, Zhou Mi following after him, and they slithered across the dorm towards Kyuhyun and Sungmin’s room’s door. Every second that passed was torture to Zhou Mi. He wanted nothing more than to be able to enter and look for something that could give him a clue as to what Kyuhyun was keeping from him.
They were almost there. Through Donghae’s lead, they had finally reached the door. Zhou Mi crouched up and raised a hand to the doorknob. Once he turned it, they would get inside and the mission would be a success.
“What are you two doing?” Hyukjae, just coming out of his own room, asked. He stood there, strawberry milk on hand, looking from Zhou Mi in his tight bodysuit and at Donghae, who was smiling so happily.
“Shush,” Zhou Mi hissed, glancing behind him, towards the kitchen to see if they’d been caught.
Kyuhyun’s brown and curious eyes met his. Zhou Mi ducked his head and looked away.
“Does this mean we fail?” Donghae asked the older man, frown etched deep into his features.
“What the f***!” Heechul cursed as soon as he laid eyes on Zhou Mi, coming out of his own bedroom and witnessing the gathering outside Kyuhyun and Sungmin’s door. “What are these two doofuses doing?” he asked Hyukjae.
“Beats me,” Hyukjae answered with a shrug. “I just saw them crawling-or is it sliding?-across the dorm.”
“It’s a mission,” Donghae blurted out. “From the ninja council. No one says no to the ninja council.” Zhou Mi buried his face in his hand.
Heechul looked at Donghae then at Zhou Mi, taking in his whole ninja attire. “Hyukjae, take Donghae to his room,” he then ordered. As Hyukjae helped Donghae stand up, Heechul spoke to Zhou Mi, “Why would you do this? You know that Donghae’s already damaged as it is.”
“Hey, I’m not damaged,” Donghae heavily argued. “Santa Claus is real. As well as aliens!”
“Shh,” Hyukjae tried to calm him down, glaring at Zhou Mi. “Come on, let’s talk to your alien friends in your room.”
Slowly, Hyukjae led Donghae away.
“Look,” Heechul pointedly began, looking at Zhou Mi in the eye. “This isn’t going to solve anything, if there’s even anything to solve.”
“But, hyung,” Zhou Mi argued. “How can I trust him if I don’t know what’s going on?”
“There’s a reason he isn’t telling you,” Heechul replied. “Remember this is Kyuhyun we’re talking about. He’s awkward to the very core and always does things weirdly. Stop mistrusting him.” He then looked at Zhou Mi’s outfit once again. “Will you please do everyone, including yourself, a favor? Get out of that stupid suit-where did you even get that? Throw it away and go shower in rainbows or something. And stop dragging innocent people into this mess.”
Heechul huffed and walked away.
---
He groaned as he felt something heavy practically pounce on him in the middle of his peaceful sleep. He tried pushing it away, but to no avail. It just clung on him like some leech. Blearily, he opened one eye.
Kyuhyun was wrapped around him, his nose guzzling his neck.
“Kyu-,” he struggled to push him off of him. “Kui Xian, you’re-.”
“Just this once, Mi,” came Kyuhyun’s muffled and tired tone. “I know you don’t like me right now, but I miss you.”
Zhou Mi stilled. After thinking for a second, he proceeded to wrap his own arms around Kyuhyun.
And they lay there, just in each other’s embrace, enjoying the comfortable familiarity that they had with each other.
Zhou Mi, almost falling back into slumber, moved his position and buried his face in Kyuhyun’s neck, earning a purr from the younger man. He smiled and further buried his nose in his neck…when he smelled an unfamiliar scent.
Pulling away, suddenly awake, he asked, “What is that?”
“What?” Kyuhyun groggily asked.
Zhou Mi leaned closer and smelled him. It was a faint one, but he was sure it was a woman’s perfume. “That smell,” he pointed out. He sat up and stared at Kyuhyun, who sat up as well. “You are seeing someone else.” He swallowed and blinked as the realization hit him hard.
“No, Mi,” Kyuhyun started to say, reaching out for his hand.
Zhou Mi slapped his hand away. “Get out.”
---
It was a horrible feeling, being so angry and hurt and not having Kyuhyun to talk to and rant to about it. Because it was Kyuhyun he was angry and hurt at.
After Kyuhyun had left his room, he had locked himself in and had only gotten out when he was sure there was no one else in the dorm. He really didn’t want to deal with anyone at the moment. He was still upset and just plain confused. He never imagined that Kyuhyun would ever…he couldn’t even finish the thought.
He buried his face in his hands.
“Zhou Mi, we need to talk.”
Mentioned male looked up to a very scarily glaring Sungmin. Immediately flinching at the sight of his eyes piercing him, he cowered a bit, but firmly said, “If there’s anyone you need to talk to, it’s Kyuhyun.”
“I can’t very well do that because he’s been crying like a girl since yesterday,” Sungmin pointed out through gritted teeth, plopping down on the seat across from him. “What did you do?”
“Me? I didn’t do anything,” Zhou Mi heavily defended himself. “He’s the one who cheated on me. He’s been with a woman and-.”
“What did I say about over thinking things again?” Sungmin reminded him, cutting him off.
“But I’m not over thinking things,” Zhou Mi argued. “I’m not. I know a woman’s perfume when I smell one because-.”
“You’re damn too girly for your own good, Mi,” Henry walked in, followed by a frowning Ryeowook.
“Not you, too,” Zhou Mi told Ryeowook. “If anything, I thought you’d at least believe me.”
“But you’re wrong, gege,” Ryeowook earnestly told him. “You really are.”
“Have you even bothered to go online at all these past few weeks? Or talk to any of the managers or anything at all?” Henry questioned when Zhou Mi just frowned.
Zhou Mi slowly shook his head. “No…?”
“Ugh, I’m really going to-you’re so frustrating,” Henry exclaimed. “I really don’t know how Kyuhyun puts up with you.”
“Because they’re both dense,” Heechul called out, walking into the room. “Really, the only way Zhou Mi can put up with someone like Kyuhyun and vise versa is for that reason. They’re both just stupid. Apparently, though, stupid plus stupid equates to even more stupidity. Ugh.”
Heechul slapped a magazine on the table.
“That is what your boyfriend’s been doing when you think he’s been cheating on you,” Heechul announced, smiling triumphantly when Zhou Mi’s jaw dropped.
“You should go and apologize,” Ryeowook piped in as Zhou Mi flipped through the magazine, speed-reading through everything.
“You better,” Sungmin interjected. “Or else. I really don’t want to hear or see Kyuhyun cry like that ever again. Now that I think about it, he takes after you.” He shuddered.
“I…I don’t know what to say,” Zhou Mi sheepishly spoke after a while. “I guess I really have been stupid.”
“What did I say!” Heechul bellowed. “More stupidity!”
---
Kyuhyun exited the stage and walked towards the dressing room after receiving claps on the back from everyone. He took off part of his outfit and hung it on one of the chairs. He sat down in front of one of the vanity tables and just stared at his reflection.
“So…”
Kyuhyun sat up straight, becoming rigid at the sound of the familiar voice. He turned around in his seat and found Zhou Mi standing at the doorway.
“What…are you doing here?” Kyuhyun asked when he found his voice. “Did you just…?” He glanced out into the hallway then met his gaze.
“I did,” Zhou Mi answered his unfinished question and walked into the room, closing the door behind him. “You’re were amazing.”
“Really?” Kyuhyun asked, clearly surprised with his answer. “Even if…?”
“Is that why you were avoiding me or avoiding kissing me-which is also avoiding me-but really, is that why?” Zhou Mi babbled, stepping closer. “Because you had a kissing scene with your co-star in a musical?”
Kyuhyun hung his head, biting his lip. “I really didn’t know how to tell you,” he mumbled. “I mean, I know you’re sensitive and I just didn’t know how to tell you that I would-.”
“Kyuhyun, I’m not that sensitive,” Zhou Mi countered, looking defensive. “I’m not. Right?”
“Er, well, the way you asked if I was kissing other people…I kind of decided to hold off telling you about it,” Kyuhyun explained, looking apologetic. He looked up at him and felt relieved to find that Zhou Mi was smiling. Widely. “For the record, it wasn’t the same.”
“You’re so cute,” Zhou Mi giggled, reaching out to brush Kyuhyun’s bangs away from his eyes. “I can’t believe I didn’t know you had a musical.” He then pouted.
Kyuhyun shifted in his seat, his eyes going to his lips. It seemed Zhou Mi got the message for he leaned down to him, his face inches away from his.
“Can I kiss you now then?” Zhou Mi asked softly.
“Yes please,” Kyuhyun politely answered, lifting his face up. “I’ve deprived us for weeks.”
Zhou Mi giggled.

Author's Notes:
1. This is my attempt at comedy and fluff. Did it work? Hahaha! I had fun writing it, though. And am surprised that I managed to finish it in half a day. I was bored while waiting for some government documents and started writing on my notebook.
2. This is me hung over from The Three Musketeers. I'm so proud of Kyuhyun really. I wish I could watch it. And I wish he'll be back in November. He's so happy doing this.
3. The title is completely nonsensical I know. It's just that Osmium is the densest element there is, followed by Iridium. Osmium is Zhou Mi and Iridium is Kyuhyun. And they're both dense. I'm lame, I know. Ignore me.
4.. I love Donghae here. :))) I love him and his five year old self.
5. Started 07/29/11. Finished 07/30/11, 1AM
