Character History: Most of Starscream's early life is a mystery. When asked, he reveals very little outside of what he considers his own personal achievements. What is known, however, that at one point in time he was a scientist skilled in the art of space exploration and technology. He often felt others underestimated his abilities, though it was always possible that he was overreaching his own qualifications. Either way, he studied at the Cybertron War Academy where he possibly met and befriended the fellow scientist, Jetfire. The two remained friends and partners in science until difference in viewpoints concerning the war eventually tore the two apart.

Still within the times of the pre-war (though those who would call themselves the Decepticons were already starting to gather an unify) Starscream found himself partaking in underground gladiatorial matches where he often battled against another combatant known as Grimlock. It was unknown whether or not the two were ever really friends, but Starscream seemed to enjoy taunting him both before and during the war.

While everything underground was in chaos, a warrior known as Megatron rose to eventually take command of the forces who would come to call themselves the Decepticons. But the war which was started was all a plan instigated by Megatron in order to gain knowledge on the history and destiny of Cybertron itself. Starscream, of course, was skeptical about the whole thing, but had learned early on when to give in and when to strike. It was this attitude which allowed him to rise within the ranks of the Decepticons so quickly. That and he was just plan good at what he does.

Starscream allowed Megatron to go through with his plans, but not before making a move of his own. He attempted to trap both Megatron and the new Autobot leader, Optimus Prime deep within Cybertron's core and crush the two of them in one blow. Starscream further takes advantage of the situation by declearing himself the new leader of the Decepticons. Of course as all good things must come to an end, Megatron proved himself to not die very easily and was quick to dispatch punishment onto the Aerospace Commander for his actions.

Millions of years later, Starscream was part of the group who boarded the Ark when the Decepticons attempted to take it over and fell into stasis after it's crash on Earth. Eventually a volcanic eruption would awaken the members of both sides and their would continue only on Earth this time. It went on for a time, though much is not known about Starscream's actions in particular.

Megatron's plans on conquring Earth were shattered when another player decided to step in: Shockwave. He managed to defeat Megatron and capture both the Autobots and Decepticons unifying them into one force known as the Cybertronians. Starscream went along initially (though he managed to toss Megatron into open space before they even reached Cybertron), but didn't agree with Shockwave's new government. He was soon rallying his own separatist sect of Decepticons to go against Shockwave. His actions eventually landed his group back on Earth where Starscream once again attempted to rule all and struck against the Autobots.

The Autobots managed to hold their own and even captured quite a few of the Decepticons. Starscream was going to have none of this, but his own plans were halted when a yellow and orange clone showed up on Earth claiming to be on a mission of greater power.

Starscream failed to see the logic behind any of it and made great attempts to get away from the one he deemed crazy only to have to turn to the Autobots and a former friend: Jetfire. In usual Starscream fashion, it was discovered that the Decepticon second in command was only using his knew found allies for his greater gain. Siding with Sunstorm, he broke some sort of mysterious seal, which also proved to be the end of his alliance with his clone. He promptly shot him with his modified Null Ray, which corrupted Sunstorm's regenerative abilities.

Starscream did not forsee that Sunstorm falling within a pit of energy would cause a chain reaction, making the already crazy mech go radioactive. The Decepticon found himself between a rock and a hard place, when Jetfire saved his life from certain termination. Jetfire made a last request of Starscream before taking off after Sunstorm to save everyone. Starscream was hesitant and rather appalled, but in the end saved the life of the Autobot warrior, Bumblebee. Ignoring the young Autobots words about him attempting to help anyone, Starscream actually was on his way to were his former friend had flown off too, only he was too late and witnessed the explosion in the sky.

With that adventure and soon another out of the way Starscream returns to the Decepticon underwater base where he meets an unespected guest - Megatron himself. The Decepticon leader would have probably finished the job right then and there if not for one little fact; a prophecy that Starscream seemed to be apart of. Though not big on theology himself, Starscream soon found that to be the only thing which saved him from Megatron's wrath.

Character Personality: Most would consider Starscream to be some sort of egomaniac with a strong condescending streak and little to no regard for anyone other than himself.

While most of this is true, they are not quite the words Starscream would use to describe himself.

He is selfish with a strong lust for power that sometimes blinds his own ambitions. He sets overly high goals for himself for the simple reason that he actually believes he can achieve them. On top of that he, in all honesty, believes himself to be one of the most intelligent (and handsome) Decepticon ever. He is much more than Megatron ever will be, though he does acknowledge that his leader did have some former moments of greatness.

Most of his snark and outright disregard for others hides a small flicker of a conscience which he buries deep within. After all, he wouldn't make it very long as a Decepticon otherwise.

Though he does not realize it, his ambitious nature and quest for power is what makes him so similar to the one he truly loaths: Megatron. Their similiarities are the reason Starscream holds his rank and why he has managed to keep his life for so long.

But their similarities end there and Starscream's deeper personality proves that his motivations are much different than his leader. While Starscream will flee from a fight more often than naught, he does not do so completely out of cowardess. His escapes give him more time to plot and formulate another plan for him to set into action. He always has a plan B.

Plan B doesn't always work though due to Starscream's oversight into his own abilities. Sometimes he just doesn't competely think things through, which is probably his over all greatest weakness.
Powers: Starscream's main ability is his Null Ray which is fired from the cannons on the side of his arms. While the Null Ray is powerful, it is not necessarily a killing attack. It disrupts the flow of electricity in any form of life though the effect is far from permanent - though Starscream has been known to make modifications which gives it a more disastrous effect. He doesn't usually choose to do this, however, unless he considers his enemy to be an extreme threat.

His only other special ability is his speed in flight as he is one of the fastest of fliers be it Decepticon or Autobot.

Due to the events of Beast Wars also happening in his universe, it is also possible, though not definite that Starscream contains an immortal spark.

First person: Well now, isn't this most amusing. It seems that no matter where I go, I always end up at a cross-roads. Which then begs the question; do I travel down the road less taken, or the one expected of me?

Those bumbling fools don't think that I know the truth behind their glances, their doubts in my every action. But I have nothing to prove to them. Any of them.

Yet I still find myself wanting to prove something. What, I don't know. Is it my greatness? My intelligence? My overall skill? That I am deserving of the rank I hold? In the end those are just little things, which carry very little meaning. But I let the fools believe that is the only thing I hold up high.

I won't claim to have found enlightenment, because of all people, I certainly haven't.

What I have found is worth much more, much more than what Megatron could ever willingly offer.

No, what I found lurks deep within the shadows.

I have found the one thing even Megatron truly fears.

Weakness. His own.

I'll let him be in control for now, but in the end there shall be only one victor.

Out of his ashes, I shall rise.

As he was valiant, I honor him. But as he was ambitious, I slew him.

Third Person:

Times like these were when Starscream wished he had the ability to reach deep into the depths of another's mind and find out exactly what they were thinking. In this case, the answers lied behind the stern mask of none other than Megatron. Of course, the Aerospace Commadner didn't wish to know all of this leader's thoughts, just the more important ones. Especially since his commander was being eerily quiet at the moment. And Starscream knew just how devious and dangerous one could get if lost in his own thoughts. Though any other course of actions was like walking on thin ice as well.

What was a Seeker to do? He was surprised nothing happened to him the moment he walked into the command room. His position offered him some slight advantages, but when Megatron was in one of his moods even those weren't worth much.

But the Decepticon leader hadn't so much as even looked up at him. This surprised Starscream as he was expecting at least something. A reprimand for bothering him, or even a slightly misplaced shot which would leave a dent in the wall. But nothing.

Starscream circled around from behind to get a good look at just exactly Megatron was staring at. He stared at the words and verses written in ... Oh was that the ancient Cybertronian script? The one the Autobots seemed to have adopted? His interested peaked slightly as he scanned over the sentences some more. Most of it seemed rather dull and boring.

“What are you reading?” Starscream could hold back his silence no longer. “This seems just as stupid as Skywarp's --” He paused. "And the sun and its brother shall storm over the new world to reveal the beast and destroy it.” The words slipped before he even knew he spoke them.

So that's what this was. Starscream turned sharply, his gaze fixated on the darkness that lurked on the other side of the room. “So you resort to reading that garbage again. I can't believe you. I expect this from the Autobots, but not you.”
The very nonsense that got Jetfire --

Ah, he wouldn't think about that.

He shoved all thoughts away turning back around to look at Megatron, who didn't even seem to acknowledge that he spoke. That grated on the last nerve of the Seeker commander. He stepped forward and lowered himself to optic level with his leader, who still refused to look at him.

“Maybe that's it. You've become a convert? Going Autobot are we? Just wait until the others find out about your past time. I wonder if it'll make a -urk!” His words were cut off when a suddenly gripped him around the neck. Feeling himself rise to his feet as Megatron did the same, it was only then that he found himself face to face and at the sudden center of attention.

“Megatron -gah-- lets talk about th--.” The hand squeezed harder, crushing a few pieces of delicate metal. With a silent gaze, that Starscream fully understood the meaning of, Megatron finally released him, but not before tossing him to the floor.

Starscream lifted his head, his own gaze stared into the back of Megatron as the other mech made his way out of the room. A small smirk, slipped upon the Seeker's face.

He always did know how to push the right buttons.
