I don't remember coming across this previously, but it was recently brought to my attention that "thou", "thee, and "thine" in French are used in an intimate sense seventy or so odd pages into a number of French novels (and to my surprise and dismay, even in Jane Austin!)as this notes a 'familiarity' ("let the wife say these words...") between the ( Read more... )

Its also noteworthy that the "Du" form or the informal form of 'you' in German is also used between Man and God.

Its certainly tempting to look at "du" tarotically in that respect.
